Why is it wrong?

Perfectly legal in Texas to have a beer or cocktail while operating a boat.

I rarely drink when I am on the lake fishing, but when the day is over with and we are going to rent a house or trailer for the night and fishing the next day, I may have a drink on the way back to load the boat.

I have an ex-coworker that has a BWI to go along with his multiple DWI's. He said the BWI almost got him some time in the big house. How he has stayed out of prison had all of us at work amazed and confused.

Worked with a guy till he lost his job because of DWI's. The company was getting us all company cars and we had to provide our drivers license for insurance company. It all went south from here for him, he had 4 and this was in the early 90's. OUCH!

Interesting responses. Again I don’t drive drunk, I don’t drive buzzed, heck I even have a CDL so my driving privileges are very important to me but I see zero problem with drinking one or two (no more) and driving. I am 46 and have done this for over twenty years, never had a DWI, and never caused an accident.

If you don’t have the ability to stop after one or two then yes don’t drink at all. I guess it boils down to how well you trust yourself. Me personally I don’t like being drunk and out of control but I love a couple beers with my meal. I drink 1-2 beers pretty much every day of the week. Not more. I don’t get buzzed. I don’t get drunk. I enjoy it and can drive just fine afterwards. I would be happy to do any kind of test if so required.

I don’t doubt at all that driving buzzed or drunk is bad, but saying you shouldn’t drink one and drive is about like saying you shouldn’t own a gun because you might shoot up a place. It isn’t based on facts or logic it is an opinion based on fear and misinformation.

If I have to drive, I don't drink more than 12 beers. Not worth the risk.

Kidding. Almost lost 2 of my kids to a drunk on his cell phone, 35 days in the hospital & lots of therapy after.

Big difference between being responsible, and not being responsible.

I drink very little, but I never drink if I’m going to be driving.

What is the difference between pick up, carry out or take out?

Take out if your eating there, you can't get it to go.

Pick up you order usually online and they bring the order to your car when you arrive

They put a freezer thing around it to keep it cold/frozen, not a bad deal

Pour it into a Sonic cup and imbibe.

The Chili's is about 3 mile from my house, I save it to drink later after I have eaten my burger and get ready for a drink usually in the evening time. I have never been one who can eat and drink at the same time, I don't enjoy mixing them.

My preference it so have have a drink or two before eating, then just water or tea with the meal. That puts an hour or so between the drinks and getting home.
More than two drinks, and I'm either waiting a while to drive or getting an Uber.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

I am a beer drinker in copious amounts occasionally, and I have the waistline to prove it! My limit is 2 light beers (4.0% to 4.2%) and my wife has a self-imposed limit of 0 for driving. When the kids/grandkids are with us, I am the zero beer designated driver so that others can enjoy. cheers

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Uber or ride share didn't exist back in my younger days, it was either drive home drunk or sleep in your car.

There are a whole lot of things I do differently now than in my younger days.

I can tell you that the hardest way to hit them is left handed toss over the top of the truck. Passenger side window you had to be careful not to hit the door jam. But that was years ago when doing stupid stuff was okay.
