Dewberries: Look what nature provided for me. There is a dry creek running through my backyard and the whole hillside is covered with these. Noticed the thorny plants a couple of years ago well they must have matured this year. It takes 3-4 years for them to produce.

My FIL normally picks 20-30 gallons a year to freeze. I'm a pretty big fan of Dewberry pie & cobbler.

So, there’s a difference between dewberries and blackberries? Blackberries are hybrids. Dewberries are the result, usually, of birds eating and spreading seeds. They don't regrow as the parent plant.
