I absolutely enjoyed that gun. It was fun on the range and it was fun to hunt with. Like a dummy I sold it. One day I will get another

It was a pain to clean and takedown but it had a smooth action and just gave you a feeling of firepower and confidence.

what was or is your favorite gun?

My most fun would be my Surgeon 6.5x47 bolt gun. The action is so smooth, and the rifle is stupid accurate.

My favorite blasting rifle is my AR-15 in 300 Blk Out 10.5" pistol. That one is freakin' sweet.

My Winchester '94 in 22LR that we shoot in the THF Hunters Challenge match is up there also.

I love them all but my TRP is my favorite. Then all my aks. Like to see how far out I can take them. Haven’t shot my SOCOM yet but have a feeling it will top the list once I do.

Call me crazy, it's a tie between a pellet gun (RWS 34) and my Baikal single shot 12 guage.

Pellet guns are just a ton of fun. My little Baikal single shot shoots perfectly where I point it.

The Baikal shot terribly low when I bought it, so I whacked the barrel on a stump to bend it until it hit where I pointed it. It's the only gun I care little enough about to pull that stunt and now it's the best shooting shotgun I have (for me).

I’m a fan of the open sighted 30-30. I have a pre 64 Winchester and a ‘67 marlin. I like the Winchester better to carry but I like the action on the Marlin. If I had to pick I’d choose the Win. My favorite shotgun to carry is my Superposed 20ga. Mod/imp 26” Barrels. I shoot my A5 better and dove hunt with it. It’s probably my favorite shotgun to shoot but is too damn heavy to carry.

All depends on mood and weather for me...

Could be one of the bolt guns in 6.5 creed, 7.62x39, 30/30, etc.
Could be one of the pistols or revolver in 9mm, 10mm, .357 or .22lr
Could be the G3K SBR .308
Could be the AR .223
Could be the CZ Scorpion 9mm
Could be one of the Shotguns

My CZ is fun to shoot, my G3 always puts a smile on my face, and everything I own I enjoy shooting or I wouldn’t own them.

The greater challenge that comes with shooting open sights does create a greater reward in achieving tight groups. Also, shooting with just a forearm rest can increase the challenge and reward even more. IMO, shooting a rifle with open sights equates to swinging a leaded bat and usually pays great dividends when it comes time to shoot with the aid of optics.

For me, on deck practice includes shooting my open-sighted Henry 30-30 at 100 targets.

I have a Browning stainless A-Bolt II in 7 Rem Mag that I use to love. Then all the sudden it started flinging bullets everywhere. I gave up on it and put it away for a few years and then drug it out again and gave it a good cleaning, took the mounts, rings and scope off and put it all back together.

2 years ago I took a couple of hogs with it out to about 100 yards and started to like the gun again. Last year I shot a few rounds through it at the range and it was back to being a 1 hole gun again so I decided to air a few shots out with it on some pigs. I shot several out to about 350ish yards and one waaaaay beyond that and if I remember correctly all dropped in their tracks. It seemed like I could do no wrong with that gun last year.

So despite the fact I despise Browning now days, that gun is my current favorite at the moment.

Here is the waaaaay out there shot. There are two feeders. The black dot you see under the top feeder is the pig that I dropped.

Have a couple I really like. 1903A3 is my favorite. The other is a 50 yr. old Sako that has been rebarrelled
to a 338-06 Ai. Sako seems to know how to make stocks. This gun doesn't kick much and less than MOA
with a number of different loads.

Lately it has been this one. Cheap to shoot. Load development has been a blast too. Tried all kinds of different loads and ammo combinations.

Custom built .223 Ackley Improved. Myself and the man the did the machining both giggled the first shot we made with it. Zero recoil, and shoots extremely precise. And it'll run to the end of my range, only burning 26.0 gr of powder. It is a laser and extremely fun! It is my "trainer". Just built to shoot a whole bunch, and what I really focus on barricade shooting with. If there's a miss, it was the shooters fault, not the rifle or ammo. It weighs, and is exactly the same length and contour of my competition rifle a 6.5 Creedmoor. It was put away through the winter as I had the 7 Rem Mag with me. The little .223 A.I. is about to come back out, until November.

20 inch A2 AR, open sights, Magpul furniture.

Just plain fun to shoot, eats anything, 1-1.5 MOA with open sights out to the 300 yards I have shot it to.

Just my 02,

I think my favorite changes regularly but I do always have something in 45 Colt around. I still can’t decide if I like the 92 action or the 1894 better. The 16” 92 is about as handy as it gets. The 20” 1894 will launch a 300g bullet at 1600. What’s not to love.

I currently have two, though I haven't finished load development on one;

Model 70 Win with a Pac-Nor barrel in 6.5x55. Taken deer out to 350 with it so far. Light/nearly no recoil and scary accurate.

The one I haven't finished working up the load is the Newton 1st model 256 Newton.

Thinking back on my best hunts over the last five or so years and this one gave me the most memories. Remington 700 5R Milspec in .308 with a Leupold VX6. I have killed a truckload of bucks, hogs and coyotes with this set up. This hunt is typical of what this rifle will do. Shot these three over 1-1/2 hours from the same spot from. If memory serves me, 170, 220 and close to 400 yards. [Linked Image]

Probably my custom APR 270 winchester. Shoots really well with factory ammo and nothing has escaped my crosshairs. Has taken whitetail, axis, bobcat and hogs. 2nd place would be my 270 wsm Browning X bolt stainless fluted carbon fiber. Shoots like a death ray and makes me smile every time I squeeze the trigger.

I wish I could say it was one of the ones I've dumped a ton of money into but in all honesty, the Ruger 10/22 I bought for my son to learn on is a ton of fun to shoot and more fun to watch him shoot.

I enjoy shooting all my guns, but I guess I have the most fun with any of my .22's. Henry, Remington 550 (cycles long, short, and even the cci quiets!),marlin 25, ruger mark 1...I could sit down with a brick of .22 and just shoot all day long.

I’m not a Savage fan at all but the only one I own is probably my favorite to shoot

Savage A17

It’s a semi auto that’s cheap to shoot, I’ve killed numerous hogs and raccoons with it

I can get it to shoot about 1.25 groups at 100 but I’m sure a better shooter could do better

It’s just a fun little gun

It changes... yesterday shot a 338 Lapua/6.5 Creedmoor/6mm Creedmoor and the 6mm was shooting awesome so it was my favorite.

My Savage Axis Series II is without question my greatest overall value gun. For a rifle that cost me less than $400, it shoots great and has as crisp a trigger and workmanship as just about any gun in my safe.

Overall best value gun I have is a Remington 788 in 7mm-08 that I bought new for $209 including tax. With handloads tailored for it half inch groups are common. Do not do that every time but almost never have a group over 5/8 at 100 yards using its 2-7X32. Not bad for a wood stocked gun that was bought at Walmart in 1982, still basically stock other than the barrel is free floated now

Great shooters, I'd like to get one in .308.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

A close tie between my Winchester Model 190 and my Winchester Model 1890 (which is 110 years old).
Then a Colt Woodsman/Huntsman that belonged to my Wife's dad.

I would probably have to go with any of my ARs. Cheap and fun is a winning combination for me.

Original-owner of a 1979 .243 with the 22” barrel and the straight bolt. That gun is so much fun to carry and shoot. If they made new ones of the same quality I’d likely buy 5-6 different calibers.

Don't be afraid of buying the older ones. I currently have 223, 30-30, 44 Mag and the 7mm-08. Never met a 788 yet that doesn't shoot good

My favorite rifle to shoot that I own is my Remington sendero in 270 win. I grab that gun with confidence every time.

Don't tell my rifle, but probably the favorite one I have ever shot was my brothers Marlin 1895 cowboy in 45-70 open sight.

Im going to be putting together my "home assembled" savage 7mm08 this summer for hopefull use next season and it may steal some thunder from my sendero.

For sure don't be discouraged by "used". The way I see it, if you bought it new you probably paid too much.

Remington 3200 (12 ga.) with Briley 28 ga. tubes installed. Breaks targets like a 20, feels like a .410.

I like shooting bolt guns.

My favorite is a tie between my two mark V’s.

A Browning 22 Semi Auto Rifle that was the first gun I ever bought. It was made in 1926 and I have over 100,000 rounds through it. It is fast becoming my grandson's favorite rifle also.

That would be my Swedish Model 41B Sniper Rifle. It is more accurate than I am. The Ajack scope is so easy to put on target. It will be a sad day when I run out of my hoard of original prickskytte ammo for it. It's only a special occasion fair weather day rifle, but it is the rifle I enjoy shooting the most.

That is cool. Very unique piece of hardware and curious what the optics look like for a time period rifle like that.

The rifles originated from M96 service rifles that were specially selected for superior accuracy. Mine is dated 1919 with all serial numbers matching including the scope mount. Ajack 4x90 scope is original and dated 1942. Sling and low sight hood are original accessories for the rifle as well. Reticle picture for reference is very old from a crappy camera. In person it is as clear as any scope. Not pictured, I have the original scope can as well. Not only is it my favorite to shoot. It is the pride of my collection. For those that collect military C&Rs this one was hand picked years ago by Dennis Kroh from the Samco imports. I am protective of it so though not often, I do hunt with it.

When I had my place and shot a lot, had many rifles and pistols of a lot of calibers. This was a hog Killing due and at 150 to 200 yards was a killer. PSL 7.62x54R. Cheap to shoot with surplus ammo. [Linked Image]
