My son. But I hope and pray that my wife doesn't sell them for what I told her I bought them for!

My grandpa gave me and my brother all of his guns when he moved into town... 2 years later he said this is bs and bought a new place in the country, he said keep em I dont need em and I want you two to have them. We said no you need to have them with you we can have them later. Shortly after opie passed away and the guns got divided amongst all... we got his 22 only... still enfuriates me to this very day!
Lord willing I have kids they will go to my kids, if not I have two little nephews that they would go to or my brother if he makes it longer than me.

I agree with what Tom Gresham had to say on the subject. Why not give them to whoever you want to have them "before" you pass. That way you can also share a story or two about what makes the gun special to you and get to see the look on the recipient's face when the gun is handed down. I think maybe the stories might just make the gun that much more valuable.

I have no idea. Daughter isn't into hunting at all so she won't want them. I'll take them with me I guess.

My wife will keep them. Since she shoots as good as me. Not to mention it will most likely be her that shoots me with one anyway. ROFLMAO

I think maybe the stories might just make the gun that much more valuable. Your comments also bring to mind those who "promise" a specific firearm to a certain family member. No doubt it makes sense to put such things in writing to avoid any chance of confusion. It also brings to mind how that firearm you give away can be later sold because the person needs the money.

my kids, and a few close friends. Mama and I have discussed each and everyone of them, and I have put it in writing. the kids, still young, have started placing "dibs" on certain ones, and those wishes will be granted.
I have outlined who will get to pick and choose among the gear as well.
The rest will be either sold, or saved for future family members. I just had a flash of Sissy giving Bubba a beat down over the guns
Life is short, and tomorrow may never come... I just had a vision of Sissy giving Bubba a beat down over the guns. No kids here, we have my wife's Nephew who is in the ARMY. He is now showing some maturity and responsibility so he most likely will stay on the list. Best friends son will get some. I will probably get rid of the antiques that are in questionable condition for shooting so nobody gets hurt. My wife will keep her Dad's guns as her brother can't possess them, being a convicted felon and all. A couple were her grandfathers, like a Win exposed hammer pump 22 cal rifle, model 1906 or something like that. It is buried in the back of the safe. Like the one on the bottom.

Who are you hiding from? LOL Check this out, mossy oak casket! My kids and grandkids? Good info about making sure you have it spelled out.

I have all of my grandfathers guns and the family knows it I have a rather large safe and it is the safest place for them they will NEVER get sold and if any of the family wants to use one they know to ask. If any of them wants to take one or some to keep it gets cleared through grandma first before any leaves my house.
