I am looking for a potential long term lease near Wichita Falls or a reasonable drive (1.5 hrs) I have been on a lease out in central AR for the past couple years and now have a 15 month old son and want somewhere to bring him when he gets older to hunt upland, turkey, waterfowl, and deer. The AR place was great but a 6.5 hrs drive wasnt realistic with little man and everything else. I have guided and managed hunting properties my whole life so I am very well versed in both property and herd management. I would prefer to be on a place by myself but understand that nowadays that may not be possible. Hoping to keep price no more than $4500. Happy to share more about myself or what I am looking for if need be.

I have several H&R AAC 300BO Handi Rifles and was thinking of getting a 410 barrel for one of them. I have read there's a lot of fitting involved in changing barrels and I've also read it's just a simple swap. My receivers are the later produced center fire rifle type so I'm not worried about it being able to handle any pressure differences.

The Mesquite Pit in Mineral Wells was pretty good. Tater salad was good, and ribs were good, but their bbq sauce wasn’t great. In Jacksboro we ate at the Green Frog. Buffet style. Food was good. It was crowded.

Tomorrow, heading home, probably will eat in Hillsboro at the Lone Star Cafe. That’s a usual stop when we are taking the TT in that general direction.

I cant believe Im starting a thread about a movie. I dont even own a TV and hardly watch anything. I must be bored, which is hard to imagine.
Spoiler alert warning-if anyone choses to comment Im sure theres potential for spoiling for those that havent seen it.
Anyway, I watched this 10 episode thing the other day. Ill resist offering my thoughts(I enjoyed it) and ask what yall thought.
My main question would be about the choice they made to end it with the very very final scene. There must have been some deep meaning that went over my head.

Selling a lightly used Pulsar Thermion XM50 thermal rifle scope for $2,500 obo. This scope is awesome - great for shooting long-range with its native 5.5x magnification. Looks just as clear at 5.5x compared to higher resolution scopes with lower native magnification.

Nothing wrong with it - just wanting to get a thermal for close range. Will consider trades for thermals with native magnifications 3x and under.

I think it fits a ford. It does not fit 02-06 GM 2500HD models like I thought. The frame width is perfect though.

Feet are starting to hurt from wearing cowboy boots day, so I started looking for something suitable daily wear that would give me good traction off-road. Had a pair of Keens that were comfortable but to be honest were an ugly shoe.

Landed on the Corrie hikers from Kennetrek, I love my mountain extremes but those are a serious hunting boot vs. a more “ all terrain” boot I can wear year round save for the worst weather.

Boots run a 1/2 size smaller than the ME’s, and are a bit stiffer in the ankle. Still in my break in process, but I’m liking these boots a lot. Uninsulated & Waterproof, these will probably be my go-to for 7/10ths of my hunting trips.

Anyone looking for a top quality hunting/hiking boot should give these guys a look. Ordered on Amazon and saved about $40

For the last week I've been binging on the old TV series Northern Exposure which is available on Amazon Prime - 6 seasons/110 episodes. Man, I enjoyed it just as much as I did when it first aired back in the early 1990's, and still lust after Maggie O'Connell.

Anyway, the last episode ends with a montage of main character scenes with the tune of "Our Town" by Iris DeMent as background music. Great music fit and a great way to end a nostalgic journey.
