my first ticket ever was a fishing ticket. my dumb (_)_) was fishing off the causeway on t-wak. not even noticing the huge sign that i happen to walk by saying "no fishing off the causeway". that was $75 my dad made me work off for a whole summer. oh! i was 17 when that happen, now im 32 and havent broken one since. why? because game wardens scare me more than the f.b.i the c.i.a and any one else.

When I was younger....quite a few. I remember coming up on this big buck one night on the edge of the highway, wasn't even old enough to drive. My buddy kept sayin get him, get him....
I hang out the window nervous as a cat coverin up chit and squeezed one off. Luckily, my nerves got the best of me and I shot so high the projectile probably landed in the next county. Thank God I missed because I was nervous enough just shooting. I can't imagine if I would have had to go get him, drag him to the truck and hide him out for a week.
Also, I brought 1 bass home from the lake and put him in my uncles pond. Got home, didn't want to clean it and it still had plenty of life so I threw him in. Had absolutely no clue at the time that this was illegal (was 20 some odd years ago). That law still baffles me a bit.
I think all of these things is what has made me more of a sportsman in my older years.

50 crappie in a livewell, Standing on the toolbox of my truck in the middle of the road so I can see the coyote as it runs over the hill. Oh....120+ + 5,000,000 candles. Glad I got a clue and a conscience!!!!

Had a guy tell me one time about some guys that went spotlighting for coyotes one night, and thought they saw one in the bushes. A .22 semi-auto with a 30 round clip, plus two .22 semi-auto pistol magazines later, and a doe shakily gets to it's feet, jumps over the fence it was next to, and they hear it fall not 5 yards onto their neighbor's property. I'd say some laws were broken there.

I remember when I was little in west Texas a couple guys my dad knew asked him if he wanted to ride with them to spotlight some mulies in the sand hills in Monahans. He declined. They ended up getting caught that night.

You name it regarding limits and I broke them back in the day. Somewhere along the way I decided that just was not cool. Thinking back on it, most of the people I knew, older and younger, did it. In other words, I did not have an example to follow doing it the right way. I hope I have provide my boys with a better example.

I've broken a few.
Been over my limit of dove, due to limiting out in the AM and PM (bet I'm not the only one on that one)
Shooting yotes and pigs off county roads, none of that anymore. Never a deer!
Can't count how many times I seen my grandpa shoot deer while checking his oil wells. (his land)
Hunted without hunters education for years, took the class in September and I am legal now. I stay in the law nowdays.

Just a few years ago, we were fishing the sandbass spawn, and ended up 3 fish over our limit (50). Even had a clicker in the boat to avoid such a thing. Just got by us I guess. Even got stopped by the game warden on the way in, he opened the livewell, dug around and pulled a few out to make sure they weren't short, then sent us on our way. Upon cleaning the fish, we noticed we had too many filets. Oops!
Might have been on the water with expired registration a time or two, but never more than a month or so out.

When I was about 10 years old I shot a dove off the powerline in my backyard with a BB gun. It helicoptered down into my neighbors yard and the woman who lived there called the police on me! The policeman was pretty understanding but gave me a talking to. Been on the straight and narrow ever since!

Haha I remember when I was like 8 I came home from the pasture with 11 dove I had shot with the BB gun. I got a talking to but we did eat them! And that was the most I have ever killed, lmao. Never shot that many on a real dove hunt.

lol...sounds about like my childhood of shooting pigeons in my dad's warehouse at night. Drive around in a golf cart, stop, find them in the corner, pop one, they relocate, drive over and pop another one. Fun times.

I have a good one I was hunting in a safety Zone at a house on a river while goose hunting. my buddy goes and gets some coffee at this time the game wardon shows up . he gives me a ticket for hunting with 2 guns , after I told him I had a hunting partner. by this time he walks back to the car and my buddy shows up and he gives my buddy a hunting in a safety zone ticket. still have know idea why I didn't get the safety zone ticket ? so me and my buddy go to court and get them thrown out cause if he was hunting in the safety zone than that means I wasn't hunting with 2 guns and why didn't I get a safety zone ticket if I was their too. We still hunted this spot for 2 more years and he never came back out.
Everyone should beleive in something ,I beleive I'll go Fishing and Hunting.

I didn't even know you couldn't hunt with 2 guns. Why that matters I have no idea. A limit is a limit.

I didn't ask the reason. I said I have no idea why it matters. A limit is still a limit whether you are using 2 guns or 5 shells.
