I took Friday off of work, married oat a Ft Hood chapel (in-laws did everything) on Saturday, honeymoon in Lampassas for 1 night, back to the in-laws to open gifts, back to work Monday.
Both of my wife's siblings saw what my MIL did and did not let her touch their weddings.

Like you and Stompy, my brand new wife and I had a short honeymoon. We drove 30 miles to a slightly larger town, had a nice meal, and spent the night at a Howard Johnson. That was a Saturday, and Monday I went to work. We were poor but happy, and will be married 58 years in early March.
Been to lots of nice places since then.

1st marriage we were just kids and went to New Orleans...in late May. I wouldn't recommend it. 2nd marriage I'd broken my ankle 3 weeks before and we needed to get back to work, so we didn't go anywhere. 'Been some amazing places around the world since though. That, and every day for the last 33 years has been a walk in Paradise.

We got married 2 days before we started HS football/volleyball 2-a-days, so we didn't get a honeymoon that year...the following summer we took off to Moon Palace in Cancun. 26 years ago this summer!

We did the JP route then headed to the Grand Cayman for our 8 day honeymoon. We had a blast, very memorable.

Got married in Vegas and stayed at the Imperial Palace. It was brand new when we stayed there in 1980. First time in Vegas and on an airplane.

I had a week long trip planned in the Caymans. A day on Grand Cayman, then a few days on Cayman Brac in a private villa on the beach. Unfortunately, 8 weeks before the wedding, I dislocated my foot and, due to not knowing what the recovery would entail, we had to cancel our honeymoon.
Two years later, we booked a trip to Peru and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu. Not nearly as relaxing as sitting on the Caribbean sipping drinks. It was actually one of the toughest things I’ve done, but it was extremely rewarding and we loved it. Wouldn’t change a thing.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

Eloped. Planned everything in advance and drove to Florida. Only told one friend, he had to be in on it for the huge party we threw three weeks after we returned. Just the two of us on the beach with the officiant and a photographer. Stayed a week, Henderson Park Inn, Destin, on the beach. Called a few friends and family after the deed was done and mailed announcements that were also invitations to a crawfish boil we had for 200 people. I gotta tell you, that was one hell of a party. These guys do boils 7-8 times a year for charity and they knew their stuff. DJ, Kegs, wine...........Everybody very happy.

1989 - Went to St Croix (always wanted to go back but never have). Hotel destroyed by hurricane on our 1st anniversary. Toured rainforest, rum distillery, and Buck Island (island and underwater National Monument). Spent most of the time in the water and on the beach.

High school sweethearts, I was still in college and my wife had just graduated, I had just bought our first house (single wide) from money I had saved thru HS & college, so we were very limited on funds for anything fancy. Mid July, I took off school around noon on Thursday to drive home, rehearsal dinner at the Observation Restaurant on Lake Buchanan, wedding Friday evening (church had one of the two a/c's go out, hotter than a $2 pistol in there), traditional Baptist reception with cake & punch. Headed to Austin at the Holiday Inn on Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake now) for Friday night, got up and headed to Galveston Saturday morning. Stayed in the Hotel Galvez which was undergoing refresh construction. Hit the beach (if you can call it a beach), rode 2 seater bicycle along the seawall for miles (realized my wife wasn't peddling after several miles), went to the premier of "Grease", ate some good seafood, headed back to college on Monday to get back into the education grind.
That was 46 1/2 years ago and I haven't been back to Galveston since.
We have traveled a lot since then all around the US and various foreign countries. Funny but since our anniversary falls in mid July, it seems like we are always traveling to various locations with our church on mission trips during that time.

Wife and her mother made all the wedding plans. Got married in Kirbyville. Church was packed with friends and family. Reception was at her parents home. We celebrated with cake and champagne. After an hour or two at the reception we drove to Houston and flew to Las Vegas for a couple days. I’m not a gambler but it is where she wanted to honeymoon. Not wanting to gamble much money away, we agreed to take $100/night to the casino. $50 each. The first night I was playing blackjack at a $3 table. When I cashed out I had won $1800 and asked my new bride to hang on to it. I slept in the next morning. We watched several shows the second day and ate the Buffett. That night we went back to the casino. I lost my $50 in about 30 minutes. I asked the new bride for some of the money I had won the night before. While I was asleep that morning she had bought a money order and mailed my winnings to our new home. It was in the mailbox when we got there. It was the first of many indicators that marrying her was one of my better decisions. I have not been back to Vegas. This Saturday will mark 33 years of marriage.

We went to Cozumel for ours. About six months of dating, a quick trip to the JP, and that was 27 years ago.

Got married on a Friday evening and the next morning we drove to Vicksburg, MS and spent the next 5 days exploring each other and a whole bunch of Civil War Stuff. Our second honeymoon 5 years later was Honolulu Hawaii. Will be celebrating 35 years married this summer and we are going to Scotland and Ireland for this one a few months early.

Ours was very festive. I got the flu on our wedding day. It was 44 years ago last January 31st. I never get the flu.
Sick as a dog, I stood there and looked at the most beautiful girl I'd ever known.
Needless to say the honeymoon was "impacted".

Got married at the SMU chapel in the spring and flew out that night to Colorado and headed to Winter Park for a week of skiing. My wife thought everybody with zinc oxide on their face looked silly and refused to wear it. Woke up after the second day of skiing and her nose and cheeks were swollen to twice their normal size. Had to go buy her a pair of Elton John sunglasses to wear on the plane home because she was so embarrassed. That was 44 years ago.

Got married in Mexico City back in '92 - whole thing was 'tentative' (two 'gringos' from USA) so we never made any honeymoon plans, and didn't have much money. After the wedding ceremony actually happened, we headed to the airport and asked where it was cheapest to fly us - $9 ea and some change got us to Acapulco - no reservations and no plans! An hour after landing we found a hotel on the beach with ocean facing view that was simple an inexpensive - about $20 a nite for 5 days! Still can't believe we pulled that off.
