Looking for real world insight on this ammo. I have had a Marlin Dirty 30 a long time just never used it much. Ammo is pricey compared to other 3030 ammo. I have watched videos etc and it appears to be a toss up if it is worth the cost. Kinda hoping to reach out to 200 yards with a scope on that rifle.

Maybe I am setting my hopes to high but looking for at least a 2 inch consistent groups. Looking at 140 grain btw. Anyone have any true world experience either good or bad? Thanks,

Been shooting that stuff for 20 yrs in my 336. Works great. I load my own with the LeverE powder, 160FTX. Did 3 touching @ 100 long time age - competition with SIL's 308ME - he won, 2 in one hole. I use the 135gr FTX in BO, should be good in 30/30 also - for longer range.

I’m pretty new to the 3030. Furthest I’ve shot mine is about 75 yards iron sight and eyes aren’t what they apparently used to be! Curious how the non lever revolution stuff is doing at 200?

I've only shot the 160 grain version, was hoping my 336 would like it but it was grouping pretty inconsistently. I settled on Federal Fusion 150s; it actually shoots the regular ol 150 grain Winchester Power Points most accurately though, a hair better than the Fusions.

I’ve had 2 336’s and used the leverevolution in both

I was never impressed, 2” at best I figure 2.5” was probably avg

Shot them out of 94 AE. Would group about 1 1/4. Shot 6 axis with it before youngest son claimed the gun.

I also handload for my .30-30 using LeverEvolution powder. While I can’t speak to how that specific factory ammo will group in your rifle, I’ve found LeverEvolution powder to perform exceptionally well in my loads. In my experience, the .30-30 shines in scenarios where the expected target is within 150 yards - that's the range I usually shoot it at. But yes, achieving 2-inch groups @ 200 yards with a scoped .30-30 is doable.

But you can't be any geek off the street, gotta be handy with the steel, if you know what I mean... hehe

Aren't they known for being short? Meaning the fired brass is shorter than spec? Not sure how much that matters, really but it could explain the inconsistency among users.

I hand load a gas checked and powder coated Ranch Dog RNFP bullet that comes out around 173 grains over IMR3031 because the bullet was designed specifically for the chamber of my 1951 Marlin 336RC that is equipped with a Redfield steel peep sight so I don't think I am shooting 2" at 200 yards. It's not what the combo is for.

Pass the gravy.

The leverevolution brass for .357 and 45/70 (and possibly others) are trimmed short. They must be short to accommodate the longer bullet. The 30/30 does not have to be trimmed shorter to accommodate.

Hornady brass is a tad short but I haven't had a problem with it. I do think they load it pretty 'hot' to get good numbers. MOA @ 200 isn't a bad hunting load.

My Glenfield 60A likes them. Shoots about 1.25 MOA, which is pretty decent for an almost 50 year old rifle with about a million miles on it. Was my grandpa’s primary deer rifle for many of those miles. I have only killed one deer with it, but it was about a 175 yard poke. Complete pass through with massive internal damage. I’m a fan.
