Arch has not really been tested. I’m gonna need to see him against a good defense on the road. At least once.

If Arch were in this NFL draft he would be the lock #1 pick Not close. He is a pup that’s never been tested by a good secondary much less a great secondary. He has to learn his check down to set up long ball, long ball is easy with Texas Receivers and Texas OL against 80th rank defenses. He is still an unknown, how many million is a 1rd pick worth?

Bobo, all these picks are based on potential... He has played, he does have an NFL arm, he does have speed and he comes from the Manning name To me, there is no doubt he goes #1 if he were in this draft You gonna take Cam Ward or Shedure over him??? Not a chance

If somes don’t like what they got out of Ewers, they’d better hope Arch improves. Sark played who he thought was best. That’s what coaches do. Yeah, it seems the TX homers have proclaimed Manning as the next Vince Young. All I can say is time will tell. He may be, or he may bomb, but he doesn't have enough consistent playing time to know at this point. Not sure you can physically put Archie next to Vince and Cam.. lol Yep. Like them or not, they were freaks on the college football field. VY threw it good enough and nobody could catch the guy. Manning ain't VY by a long stretch. . Why not? Young was 6'5", Arch is 6'4" with a muscular build for a QB. Arch has not had the opportunity to play that Young & Cam did, so we are not comparing apples to apples situation. Imagine if he had the reps in practice and playing times that Young and Cam had. Dude has wheels, moves and a pretty accurate arm, on this run he was clocked at 20.7 mph!

Arch has 9TDs. Most of those against UTSA and ULM.

No, they where beat before the game, Vince was working on draft numbers, he was in pocket entire first half, as soon as it was time to finish it he took over

Texas has tried to recreate Young with guys who look like him. Swoops, heard, Thompson. Didn’t take.

Stub not even close at this point. If it was Sak would be playing for a National championship and Ewers would have transferred out last year. Kids got potential, but not comparable at the point in time.

Size wise he is right there with VY and he's still filling out. Yeah, well that's the point. Everything Manning related is pure speculation at this point, as Bobo described perfectly. VY is a proven commodity in the college game, Manning isn't. Saying he would be the #1 pick in the NFL draft is a retarded thing to say given his unproven status. VY couldn't hack it in the NFL, what makes you think Manning can right now?

I still think college QB is very different than being a pro. I think of best college QBs of all time. Most didn’t have NFL success, some of that is going to a bad situation. I think being a great college QB is just different.

Either you think Sark is a great coach and did everything he could to win a natty or you think he’s a cuck with a man crush on ewers. Cant be both. Decide. My vote is for the man crush. Sark is an average coach at what should always be one of the top 5 most dominant programs in the nation. Texas has more high school football players than any other state in the nation. What a talent pool of athletes! Combine that with lots of donor money, loyal fans, and lots of donor money and you should be able to win 10-11 regular season games consistently every year and a national championship or runner up every 5-8 years. Just my 2 cents. Big Hutch

Arch is going to have to do more than light up UTSA, UL Monroe and run some wildcat sparingly before I or most get all in on him. He may or may not have a better upside than Ewers, time will tell. Better QB last night was Will Howard and wasn't even real close, he completed far more contested, in coverage passes than Ewers even attempted. Ewers seemed to be playing not to screw up than trying to win. Maybe the back to back bowl losses to WU had something to do with his pysche...

You've obviously been huffing paint with SA Hunter. I can’t tell if y’all are serious He would absolutely be a 1/1 in this draft Their last legit QB was McNair 20 years ago Of course, they’d take Arch if they could Biggest need… ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/01/full-19291-442114-img_2645.png)
