Has anyone hunted the WT Waggoner Ranch. I see some monster deer on the property but I don't believe they sell hunts.

A member on here knows a lot about it but I’m not sure if he will comment. Others will know as well so I’ll wait for them.

Yes

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, b/c they know not victory nor defeat"- #26 TR

Thanks, just asking because my ranch buts up to the Waggoner and we have consistently killed trophy deer year after year.

They didn’t use to, but since it sold, a few do get sold

Had an opportunity to do a managment hunt there in November, but I passed as it was too close to another hunt I had booked.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Just dropped my deer off at my taxidermist and he got invited to go hunt there a few weeks ago. He ended up taking a nice buck over 160"

I’m sure some will disagree and there are certainly exceptions; but as I have said before, MONEY usually gets you a trophy buck; or what each person calls their trophy buck. I know guys that a pitiful hunters, their lease (which is unbelievable in price) borders the Waggoner, they wound deer every year with their $10,000 guns at 100 yards and they kill monsters every year. If you got the $$$, and the connections, and it’s your cup of tea, go for it… you will get one to your liking.

Such a bizarre question and im wondering motive. Do you just want people to know your “ranch” butts up against the famed Waggoner? What kind of rancher doesnt know his neighbors well enough to ask this question directly? Do you never have cattle going either way across the fences that need to be addressed? If you “consistently kill big deer year after year”, why would you even care what they are doing?

Dang.........you just get a bag of sticks for Christmas?

Legit question, he would like to hunt it as well as his own place perhaps. You don't just go drive up to a house to talk to the owner of the Waggoner. Google it.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I dont need to google it, i know the history of the Waggoner. Its still a working cattle ranch with lots of WORKERS around. I could find someone to talk to in 10 minutes and my ranch doesnt border them. It was a ridiculous question but par for the internet i guess.

Bizarre response to a legitimate question on a hunting forum.
