Toyo ATs. If you can buy the 10 ply commercial version do it. I ran 3 sets on a previous Z71 and got 80-90K miles on each set.

Currently running a new set of Bridgestone Duelers on my 2020 Z71. Just replaced a set of Duelers that came on my truck with 72K on them.

Just my 2 cents.

I've been running the Cooper Discoverer AT from Walmart (275/55/20), on my 3rd set now. Getting about 40-45k per set with good rotation practices on my '18 silverado. They are a good budget tire, not much noise, great traction on and off road in wet and snow, no serious mudding or anything but plenty of time offroad at the property and dealing with a few steep silted in river boat ramps.

I’ll take a picture tomorrow of my BFG KO2. They’ve got 42,000 miles and haven’t been rotated or balanced in 15,000. They should have another 20,000 in them. They are on a Ram 2500 with about 1,000 pounds in the bed and pulling a trailer a couple days a week.

Got 80k on the BFGs that came on my Tundra. Excellent tires. Went to Goodyears...worst tire I have had in years. Bought some Courser AXT2 that were on sale and in three years no problems.

Have a set of 10 ply cooper AT’s on my 1/2 ton ram. They have 71,000 miles on them. They have a ton of tread left but are a little noisy. I have only rotated them twice and never re balanced. I have liked them dad put same set on his 1 ton Cummins and he is happy so far.

BFGs are OK in the rain until they start wearing and the rubber gets hard. Never any problems while moving but have to watch when taking off especially making a turn. They are not a good mud tire. The tread is not open enough for mud. In an AT Goodyear Duratracs and Coopers have a more aggressive tread. Knock on Duratracs is the sidewalls although I ran a set for 30k without problems.

Any tire with hard rubber is going to suck in the rain, no matter the amount of tread or brand.

If you’re saying the KO2 sucks in the mud, we’ll it’s not a “mud” tire, it’s an all terrain, so it needs to perform good in all terrains vs excelling in one. That’s with any all terrain. The KO2 will do decent in mud if you spin them fast enough.

That’s a 42,000 mile BFG on a Ram 2500.

I have a set of KO2s on my F150 and they have 68,000 miles on them with tread left. I rotate them every 5000 miles without fail and I think that is a big part of it. Smooth quiet ride and they have done fine in the mud and snow and best of all, no flats. I am in the market for another F150 and the first thing I will do is put a set of KOs on them.

I am not saying they suck in mud just that there are some ATs that are better. That said no AT is going to perform in mud like a MT. In my younger days I did a fair amount of mudding and ran Buckshot MTs. In those days I did not care about tire noise. I just cranked the stereo up. The Buckshots would sling some mud. Tires are a compromise. If you never or rarely leave the pavement a less aggressive tread is the best choice but some people buy tires for the aggressive look. Personally I would not buy a tire for looks. If you leave the pavement often you just need to match the tire for the conditions you encounter the most. MTs work well in mud and are normally very durable put will get you stuck in a hurry in sand. They also will not perform as well in snow as a dedicated snow tire. For most people ATs are the best compromise for various conditions and terrain.

I'm needing a set of tires for my 18 gmc sierra 1500 4wd 275/55/20
I'm wanting an all terain tire with smooth ride, low noise that will last at least 40k miles, with a nice look. . I tan Cooper Disvoerer ST' in the past and liked them but they are replaced with the AT Maxx. I also really like the new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T but not sure of noise level.

Hey Chief, I'm hearing lots of great things about the Falken Wildpeak A/T, with the latest version being the A/T4W. Looks like they also come in the size you're looking for and have a 60-65k mile warranty too.

This will probably be the next set for my SD. HTH.

Continental ATs have won me over on my Tundra TRD.
Excellent traction wet, mud, sand or pavement. Never been stuck.(pulled a new Chevy out of the mud on Sunday) Very quiet on the highway. Great ride.
I get 40k plus - I like a new set at about 45.

I buy them from Tire Rack. Best price, free delivery, free road hazard and free roadside assistance.
Local shop mounts them.

I went into Discount Tire to buy a set of Hankook ATs. The salesman told me Hankook made the same tire exclusively for Discount at a cheaper price which was the Pathfinder AT. Not sure if true or not, but I decided to try them. I'm over 90K miles on them rotating every oil change on a Crew Cab F150. They are still showing positive or green tread life. My only complaint is as they have worn they have gotten loud.

I have about 25K on a set of these and they still have lots of tread left

I run Yokohama. Have 45k on the set of M/T's I have currently on the F-250 and am about in the next 3-4k miles, which is pretty good to get almost 50k on a 3/4 truck with where I drive it.

I have had the Yoko X-AT's as well in the past and saw 50k as well. I pretty much stick to Yokohama's these days although Cooper tires on a 1/2 ton platform are great. Had a set of their A/T tires ( not overly aggressive but had some decent size lugs) and got 70k out of a set. IME they just don't hold up well to a 3/4 or bigger truck. Ran two sets of Coopers on the diesel and got about 35-40k out of a set, which is about average for any other tire I've ran on the diesels.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

So what’s making some miles. All terrain or mud. And don’t really want anything less aggressive but more is fine. These howl like mud tires anyways so noise isn’t much of a concern.

look at the new Toyo RT “trail”

Have a set on my 1 ton right now, they work pretty good but not sure the tread wear is gonna be what it used to be with toyos

I was considering those for my next set, but tire wear is important when they are $470 a tire. I know you don’t like BFG, but they came out with a new tire that should serve you well, https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/auto/tires/hd-terrain-t-a-kt
But unsure of the mileage as they are fairly new.

I've tried them all and keep going back to BFG. Won't deviate again. They're just the best from a wear/balance/performance perspective on a truck.

If you want street tires, get Michelin. Same thing. Cost more, but you get what you pay for.

I have had better luck on my tundras with the falken wildpeak at3w than anything all terrain. Seem to get a little more wear, and definitely quieter than the bfg's.
As others have said, the BEST tire for the highway is the michelin defender. 70k warranty, great in the rain and super quiet.

BFG KO2's for me, I have over 100,000 on my current set on my 2019 F250. Admittedly mostly HWY miles, I drive about 55,000 miles a year. I do hunt, fish, pull a boat trailer quite a bit with it as well.
