Watching "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" while working in my office. IMO it stands in the category of a truly great film. Others I consider to be truly great are; Forrest Gump, Seven Pounds, The Pursuit of Happiness, and Dances with Wolves.

What are some others that you would consider to be "truly great"?

I'm with bigbob, and will add Casablanca and The African Queen for a little drama.

Maybe I’m not overly sophisticated, but to me Tombstone is a truly great movie.

American Beauty is one of my all-time favorites. Very dark movie but Annette Benning is drop dead gorgeous. The drive-thru scene is epic.

Val Kilmer made the movie, I was a great movie.

The love story at the end was a little cheesy, but Val Kilmer was the star of that movie......

Had Val Kilmer not been in the movie, I don't think it would have been as popular as it is. He truly made the character his own.

Having Charleton Heston show up towards the end didn't hurt either.

They could have left out the love story at the end of the film. He did in fact meet back up with Josephene Marcus, but they didn't live happily ever after, they had a very tumultuous relationship. They did remain together, however, until his death

"Johnny Ringo, I'll be your Huckleberry", "You're no daisy, you're daisy at all" after head shooting Johnny Ringo in the quick draw....

Great cast with Hackman as Little Bill, Richard Harris as English Bob, Eastwood as William Munny and Morgan Freeman as dead later in the movie...
