Managed ranches since 1989. Work outdoors every day, work with wildlife everyday and got paid to do it everyday. In this time I also did a 7yr stint in the late 90's-mid 2000's working with landowners/lease hunters managing their deer while working for a large feed store group in South Texas. About 2012 I semi-retired and bought my own place to live and work on. Sold that place and another place I owned last year in March and bought a 300 acre place in NW Gillespie County...but could not get electric, well, septic or house built so I bought a house in Brady. Hated living in town and was bored living 55 miles from my place. Had a friend wanting me to manage his place so I went back to work and loving it. My place borders his place so I can now live and manage his place and work on mine in my spare time. Full-filled a life long dream of owning and living back in the Hill Country. Life has been good to me and very blessed to do what I love every day.

Right on! I'm a certified diagnostician as well. Currently working as a special education teacher though and spend my summers in my hay farmer disguise.

God bless you both for helping these kiddos.

We parents appreciate it as well. The paperwork is endless. We're done with high school and moving on to the transition center.

My wife was speech language pathologist in public schools for 27 years. Worked with the severe special ed kids. The paperwork was a 7 day a week deal, even the last year when she went back “part time”. Way more paperwork time than working with kids time.

My wife just went from ARD facilitator back into the classroom. She said the kids are better than most of the parents any day.

Thanks to both of you. My wife is a retired elementary teacher and sat thru many ARD meeting over the years. My daughter has a psychology degree and works for a teaching hospital doing case workups getting kids from the schools to the correct doctors.
Both have used me as a sounding board to vent on and to cry on my shoulder. Thanks again.

Dang, I thought I posted this; retired for 7 years after working in different levels of the power production industry. Most of those years were with a major electrical company.

Previous owned an IT consulting/recruiting company. Prior to that in IT. Last position was head of IT Systems Development for a Fortune 100 company.

Most prior was IT including various management positions. Prior to that was Programmer Analyst positions at several companies, prior to that computer operator.

Taught IT Concepts at a University for 3 years(part time)

Did 4 years in USAF in early computers. 64-68

First real jobs were farm/ranch hand. That’s where I learned that I really didn’t like to mess with horses.

Gotta be a special place in heaven for caregiver spouses.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Restaurant business most of my life. Working through college parttime for a startup restaurant company. I saw the genius of the owner/entrepreneur and quit my day job and went to work with them. I rode the wave of his success as I worked my way from the very bottom to VP of Operations as we grew from about 20 to 30 full service restaurant/bars. When they eventually sold the company for many many millions, I opened my own and kept that going till I sold it and soon after retired. Very glad I sold before this covid and economy kicked in.
