I taught science and coached football for two years and then installed granite countertops while I went to the fire academy.

Became at firefighter in 2011 and haven't regretted it once. I have been assigned to Station 5 for the last 9.5 years and have been on Engine 5 and Ladder 5 about equally. It's the closest station to my house and middle of the pack call volume wise. I get a wide range of types of call since our running district has all times of neighborhoods. We are also right off I20.

This job is very interesting in that it is really hard on your body and mental health but for whatever reason I love it so much.

Spent time as Chemical Process Engineer, then off to blend and trade heavy oils for another company, then moved to light oils (gasoline, diesel, jet kerosene) and trading of light oils on NYMEX, then on to a Petrochemical company from where I eventually retired. It was mostly a good ride, except for a few years with Enron (incompetent idiots and crooks).

Medically retired from Union Carbide/Dow Chemical in 2007 after 29 years in plastics manufacturing as a process operator and Shift supervisor.......now the family Gopher for kids and chauffeur for grand kids!
