The day after we left 3 years ago, somebody was airlifted out at Old Faithful after wanting to play with a Buffalo.

Impromptu stop over in Cody. Went to the museum, a gunfight and the rodeo. Kids needed a brake from hiking and driving.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Awesome trip My daughter lives in Missoula, so we will visit the sites again this fall. Places worth seeing again.

Yep, been there, many moons ago. Me and the family were presented with the whole schtick.

We were gone 15 days and didn’t make it Glacier NP. It was another 8 hours drive north from Billings. Find the time to do it one day. It is well worth the effort.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

We will be returning to NE Montana for opening of Sharptail season. Even further to Glacier from there.

Going to the Sun Road was still covered with 40ft of snow so we'll have to make another trip one day. They got 80ft of snow this last winter.

What was the “favorite” and “least favorite” thing you went to on the trip?

What was the “favorite” and “least favorite” thing you went to on the trip? Pretty sure today will be my least favorite. Mount Rushmore tourist trap BS all day. Kids will enjoy though.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I'm sure the Firearms Museum in Cody did not disappoint. I should have spent a lot more time going through it.

Mount Rushmore is actually pretty interesting. Hope you walked around Devil's Tower, clock wise we recently found out is the way the natives do things at religious sites. It gives a neat perspective.
A little cool down tomorrow night, we hope anyway.
On your way back, take Highway 34 at Wheatland exit and take that highway to Laramie. You might see bighorn sheep, elk and mule deer from the highway. At the WG&F high fence research facility the big bulls may be down at the fence early in the morning. The Library is open Thurs- Mon., family friendly and good local beer in Laramie. Good spot for a rest night. Take 287 down to Ft Collins from Laramie to hit I-25, it's a pretty drive too. If you have the time, Saratoga Wy is a neat town over the Snowy Range scenic byway, Highway 130, Centennial is on our side of the range and also neat little town, Bear Bottom for food there.

Reporting that most or all of the roads in and out of Yellowstone are closed because of ice melt/flooding!

Just saw this! ALL five incoming roads are officially closed to visitor traffic. Duration is TBD.

While on the eastern side of Wyoming watch out for prairie rattlers while out and about off road. We've already seen more this year than last 2 years combined.
