Not sure how the tennis ball thing is going to work out. I would expect it to not survive the trip but I’ve not ever tried one yet. They work well. We used them in a cannon that we filled with oxygen and used a blackcat to ignite. They are a 1 time use as we never found them.

Can't wait to see a video of you shooting that thing...!!! 50 odd years ago grandad bought some black powder for us kids to use to blow up tin cans with. He said for several years afterward he got calls from the ATF or FBI inquiring about the status of that powder. I never got the story on that.....

This is from my BPCR days at YCSA. This must be nearly 20 years ago. 14lb bowling ball mortar - it sailed 500 meters and took out one of the rams. Heckova shot. I think the charge was 2 35mm film cans full of 1Fg, and it was set off by a .32 cal blank (and the apparatus) with a long string attached. Billard balls and, lacrosse balls can do major damage to some stuff! When I was at SFA in the early '80 there were two fraternities that had cannons, the KAs and the Theta Chis. One night someone did a drive by on the Lambda Chi house. Loaded a cannon with pool balls and lit it off. Blew the front door off the hinges and missed a guy sleeping on the couch in the front room by a few inches. Nac PD, FBI, ATF, DPS and Texas Rangers all got in on the investigation. They crawled up every fraternity on campus just in case someone had made a secret cannon. They never were able to prove who did it.
