I saw some of the keystone crickett rifles at Academy for $169 the other day. It’s still a $125 gun at most Wal-Marts. I don’t know.
I over paid for the girls cricket rifles from a pawn shop but at least I was able to pick out a stock besides pink or tan plastic. We have three of the little crickett .22’s, two of the pink laminates and one of the black “glass-filled nylon” (plastic? Lol) with a higher comb on it. My daughters really enjoy them.
My budget is kind of tight but I quit hunting for the very best deal, instead I look for exactly what I want. If I can’t afford it I will wait until I can.
You actually save a lot of money waiting for exactly what you want because you don’t waste it on crap that falls short, and then lose money in the sale, lol.

Up until 2018, Cabela's used to regularly sell $100 gift cards for $80. I bought more than $3000 worth of those discounted gift cards. Those made for incredible deals at Cabela's. Once the merger was complete, those deals ended. But I got some incredible deals at Cabela's using those GCs. Bought my son a CZ Teal O/U 20 gauge that was on sale for $500, less the 20% made it $400. When the Sako Finnlight II came out, Cabela's was closing out the original Finnlight for $1500; less the 20% made my .270 Win only $1200.

The academy rifle is 6.5 gaymoor and the cabelas rifle is 30-06. Maybe it’s worth $30 to some folks to shoot the hip new round. He77 YES

. . . . BP’s has more of a sporting out wear mentality like Dicks and Academy. I think that’s a huge mistake
Yeah It's gradually getting worse. Less and less hunting, fishing, and camping in all the chain stores. I used to try to patronize the mom and pop stores for that very reason, but the mom and pops all went away years back. The mesquite Dicks dropped all their pretense and completely did away with all their hunting and fishing gear. But. . . . . If you want a designer water bottle or some chartreuse spandex shorts, they've got you covered. So . . . What's everybody gonna do when buying outdoor sports gear on the internet is no more, and the socialists do away with gun shows?

The statues outside of Scheels, make me feel good about spending my money there. Not to mention the Easter Email I got saying “He has risen” Kind of hard not to get behind Scheels

Sounds like we need a Gasbuddy app for firearms.
