Just got my Duramax out of the shop after replacing the entire fuel system from injectors back. $182 to fill up sucked.

Why anyone would support these liberal ideologies is beyond me? This is absolutely wiping out a ton of discretionary income and that ain’t good for the economy.

We can just keep burning coal and petroleum products to provide the electricity to power our electric cars and pretend that we’re better people for it, just like the current electric car owners are already doing.

Wow, I was thinking 15 to 1. I had not considered geographical foot print. But, not surprised. Thanks

Been shopping to replace my old KLR650 motorcycle. Bad seller's remorse from 10 years ago. 55mpg too, vs 17 now. Less towing capacity though....

For those buying cars to park your trucks and save on gas…

You pay $10-$30K to save $50ish per tank of fuel.

This math doesn’t really add up for me. Gonna take a long time before you realize any savings on that.

I drove back to Baytown from College Station today and got 18 mpg (by lieometer) running 70 most of the way.
I usually run 80ish and get 15.

This morning on my way to work, 4 lane divided hwy with 70 mph speed limit, I was in the slow lane at a stop light with 4 cars behind me fast lane empty. I took off slower than molasses in January and topped out at 60 mph… nobody passed me or even tailgated.

My baby diesel arrived at work this morning with 30.7 mpg on the lie-o-meter, it’s usually about 2 mpg high though. A little over 200 miles on the tank so far and distance to empty is still over 600, with the little tank, 26 gal.

Left a week ago for Colorado and gas in Texas was right at $4. Got back to Texas this morning and paid $3.55. What happened to $8-10?

In the last week we drove from Tx, through Okla and into Ark. No detail research but seemed in Tx it was around $4. Okla was definitely a little cheaper and in Ark it seemed even less. I paid 3.45 in Eureka Springs. When we got back to TX is seemed to be about 20cents cheaper than when we left. In Tyler I saw 3.82 on one corner and 3.58 on another. That 3.58 seemed really low so maybe a gimmick. Thats all just from glancing at prices as we drove and making mental notes.

Paid $4.69 for diesel at Luling Bucees on Thursday afternoon. It was $4.89 when we stopped there that morning for a cup of coffee and kolaches. Saw it as high as $5.15 on I-10 on the way to Houston that day.

I saw $5.49 at a truck stop on the Sam Houston tollway N between 45 and 59 in Houston.

10k pound, 4WD, Cummins, four door, flatbed, Laramie package, 135,000 miles on it. Tires, brakes, filters, oil, fuel. It all adds up. I especially do not need all that truck to keep just taking me to the fire station and back. Which is a 124 mile round trip. I've got 4.5 to 9 years left to go.

Basically, I am now saving fuel, maintenance cost, tires, and keeping miles off a truck. Plus reduce the risk of someone totaling it. I do not want to replace it. What is the equivalent truck in 2022 prices, $80,000? Mine is paid off, I'd just like to keep it that way.
