Is there a state record for wild hogs? If so, what is it? 459 is a BIG hog. What keeps people from trapping and culling?

We hunted pretty hard this weekend. 3 different properties and 5 pigs down. Nothing over 250#. Last night we probably had 150 pigs within range and the 2 we shot were about 210# each.

EVERY form of security can be beat. Nobody said that they couldn't. Given the chronological length of this event and the geographic range covered, there is no way for their to be judges everywhere all the time with each team, so they use lie detectors.

Diablo's Helpers got 4 last night for a total of about 750 lbs , BUT not one bigger than 250 . It is hard to judge the size at 200 yards + with thermal in tall grass down in a canyon . Did see some very large tracks , but not the maker .

297 ib last night. Bigger showed after we left. 5 days. I had been guessing low on the weights.

Same boat as you . I got a big boar at dusk with the AR-15 in 357 Diablo and regular scope . Big enough to weight on my scale , but right at 300 is not enough for the drive . Later that night I had a small boar [ about 150 ] at the feeder with a bunch of raccoons . 30 AR with thermal at 125 yards , it was like a cartoon . I hit the pig in the heart area , he went to his knees , the raccoons scattered . But there was one on top of the feeder and he fell onto the pigs head at the shot . The pig then takes off right towards me with a raccoon on his head , he plows over another running raccoon and the one on his head falls off . My next shot hits between his eyes and he flips . Watching it on the thermal was amusing to say the least .

I’m currently in 5th now after a weigh in this morning. Could have swore he had about 30 more pounds on him. 350.0 Stalked into a feeder last night and finally got him. Have another probably the same weight but I’ll wait until the 24 hr tourney to hammer him. He’s patterning nicely.

Yeah a lot of expert hog hunters on here chasing that unicorn 300# hog while others are killing 400#s each year.
