Any of you who work a 9-5 job have a little side hustle to generate some extra income on your free time? If so can you please share what it is and your experiences with it.

It takes a fair amount of capital to start but this is lucrative. Better if you can find a business partner to pony up the start-up if it’s outside your financial abilities, which it is for most people. It takes liquid cash.

That’s strange. I’ve been working since I was 14, never missed a beat. Checks always there too. Maybe I’m the only one. Nope this place is full.

As to the op. I do several different deals on side hustle. I’m an electrician so there is always that. Do a little buy/sell.

This time of the year we trap for money, our hides are worth the effort.
We also work for a rancher, taking care of his horses over winter then we do his irrigating in spring. He doesn't pay well but the hunting perks are well worth it.
Find a farmer or rancher to help out and maybe and build a long term relationship.

I'm a teacher/coach/knifemaker so this is coming from MY perspective...i'm probably gonna coach one more year and then I'll start reffing games because it's less time consuming than coaching 3 sports and I would have more time to work in my knife shop. If you're knowledgeable (or can get knowledgeable) about sports, i'd look into it! They pay pretty good for the hours worked, you can work when ya want and there's a statewide shortage (for a reason! ya better have some thick skin whether you're good OR bad!!). I could make up my yearly coaching stipend just doing one of the main sport seasons. I know around our area we are short on football, volleyball, and basketball refs, and I would assume we're gonna have the same issue with baseball/softball.

I used to do a little consulting on the side, but stopped that when I moved into the new job earlier this year.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Several guys I work with do bounce houses on the side. I think they make a little money but do it mostly for the write offs. Another guy I know just bought a pool route. He works it one day a week and he's looking at making about $2K a month profit.

I used to buy items at auction and do re-sale, but there is no money in that these days.

Hard to find anything that can co-exist with a regular job. If you know how to do taxes or book-keeping, there is a market for that.

Always ranch work, and not really dealing with cows. Painting fence, spraying mesquites and pear, fence repair, chainsawing and miscellaneous other stuff. I'd like to have someone for 10-15 hours a week.

Trapping is good here in Texas, but furs aren't worth selling. Doesn't get cold enough here for the critters to get good fur. Fur buyers I've talked to want critters from much colder states.

I always have a side hustle going, normally 3-4 at a time.

I'm the director of IT for an arm of TWC here in Texas. I've been here for 17 years this year. The pay isn't no where near what private companies are, but the benefits are great so I've really never felt the need to leave. I'm comfortable, and will probably retire from here. With that said I do like side hustles LOL.

Website/Graphic Design is by far my most profitable one, but I don't really enjoy it.

CBD business with my wife is second most profitable one and is actually doing a lot better than we first thought, but it is a pain in the [censored] to jump through all the hoops for licenses, bank accounts, and such.

I also do computer work for multiple local businesses at $75 an hour, it's almost not worth my time to drive to their location for 1 hour minimum then leave, but when they need complete computer refreshes or server upgrades you can make a good chunk of change because there are multiple hours of work involved.

My newest one is going to be custom cutting boards and charcuterie boards with laser engraving. I'm almost ready to start cranking them out, but got a few more tools and tweaks on my shop (lol garage) to do. With the price of domestic and exotic hardwoods, I'm not sure how well this one will do, but I actually enjoy it.

The one I tried, that I absolutely hated was a tee shirt apparel company. Had it not be for tax write offs on that I would have lost my [censored] LOL. NOT FUN!

Also used to make holsters, but got spooked after reading about people suing the holster maker because they had a negligent discharge shooting themselves. I sold my setup to a guy on here that took it 100 notches above what I was doing and did pretty well for himself I believe.

I work 10p-6a M-F and my side hustle is being a realtor. It’s a lucrative hustle right now, and the best part about it is when the market turns, you still have a 9-5 job to pay the bills while a lot of realtors will be jumping ship for something more stable. The initial investment is about $1500-$2000 depending on what classes you take and who your broker is and what they charge. I closed 15 properties last year, worked both sides of the deal on 3 of those. I’m rolling into 2022 with 7 closings scheduled.

It all depends on how hard you want to hustle.

This is something I’ve thought about for a while. Real estate has always intrigued me for some reason. I’ve looked into the real estate classes locally and the ones available online.

that was prolly a good lick depending on the hours put in at the office and the showings.
