Went out to the ranch Sunday and the hogs had been doing yard work. Hooked up the chain harrow behind the 4-wheeler and made rounds to smooth the destruction out a little bit. Went back out Tuesday and they had been at it again. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-5482-287675-9813ac98_9c52_486c_af5d_667871c8503f.jpeg) Dragged again, not happy about it at all. Went back out Wednesday and they hit it again Tuesday night. So that was it. Wednesday night I was in the house with no lights on, pacing from window to window checking the yard. The 6.8 with the thermal on one chair ready, 12 gauge pump loaded with buckshot on another. Of course, no hogs were showing. So I sit down on the couch about 9:15 and wake up around 10:30. Stumble to the door and peek out and there’s 3 of the bas$&rds right off the front porch about 10 yards. Grab the shotgun and ease the door open a bit and slide the barrel out. There was a very slight bit of moonlight so I could see them and I could sort of see the shotgun bead. I picked the 2 closest together ones and got close and blam! I kicked the door open like Rambo and threw two more rounds of buckshot at the 2 hauling it towards the fence and then they’re gone. Went and grabbed the thermal and scanned the pasture and saw one piled up 100 yards down towards the tank. Then I went to bed. When I went out this evening there were 2 buzzards down on him and when I got to him with the 4 wheeler he was pretty cleaned out. The skin did show a pretty good grouping of the buckshot. And he still ran 100+ yards with 3 rounds to the ribs. You can see the pellet holes pretty well. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-5482-287676-dfb71099_d33d_40aa_827f_eabd042c5dfc.jpeg) Back after them tomorrow night- don’t need their kind of help with the lawn.

Hopefully you taught the rest a lesson and they will give your pasture a break for awhile. Great story. Keep laying them down.

Buzzards must be real hungry in your neck of the woods to jump on them that quick!

Loves me some buck shot! Them 9 pellets don't play. Great Job! I bet the buzzards appreciate them already being busted open.

I shot two pigs with one shot opening weekend of turkey season. #1 buck dropped them both at 42 yards. I was thoroughly impressed.

Went back out Friday night and took the thermal to the back field. Around 9 a big boar showed up at the south feeder (175 yards) and was cleaning up the corn. I watched him and watched him and kept waiting for him to move closer. Then another boar came in the south end of the field and they started eyeing each other. Boar #1 charged at boar #2 and they both came barreling straight at me wide open. I picked the one I could get in the screen and shot, then he turned and I shot again 2 times. I'm pretty sure I hit him but won't know for sure until I get the video offloaded. About 30 minutes later a pack of them showed up at the closer (80 yard) feeder. I picked one and he went down then they scattered and I shot at another one then another one. One ran right by the box and I could see blood spurting out of his mouth with the thermal. Called it and went down to DRT hog and dragged him to the boneyard and found #2 50 yards from where I saw him last. Can't get them all but it doesn't hurt to try........... ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-5482-288339-2.jpg)
