I have a lot of experience with UTVs. I currently own 5 kubota RTVs, 1 Honda pioneer, and a Honda four wheeler. I use them for work. All of them are 2 seaters and that is all I have really used.
I am looking for something to buy and keep at our hunting place. It is my wife and I and our two kids who are 9 & 16.
I am debating on getting a single 4 seater or maybe two 2 seaters. I tend to think having two 2 seaters would be better as we could be going different places and if someone gets stuck there is the other one to pull you out or whatever. My wife wants the 4 seater thinking we could all ride around together. To me those things seem like boats, likely to high center, and hard to turn around.
Thoughts?

Depends on which ones you are looking at, but we have a Kawasaki Teryx2 and absolutely love it. The full 3-year warranty was a big selling point! The Teryx4 is the exact same machine for clearance, wheel travel, wheelbase, and overall length. No difference in power train or high centering. What you give up, or get is features. The 2 has two 6 gallon waterproof rustproof storage compartments where your feet would go in a 4-seater. The bed is twice as big, and rated for 600# instead of only 250#. The wife and I ride all the time, go camping, haul firewood, and I hunt (and haul) an entire elk in mine during hunting season. Can't do that with the 4. If you are only wanting it for the lease, and short distances traveled the Mule would probably work better for you, but we ride as much as 100-150 miles a day sometimes out here in the West. the straight up seat posture is a killer for us, and the regular good bucket seats are much more comfortable. If you have 4 people in there, its hard to talk over engine noise. If you have helmets on, you can't hear anything anyway, and are always yelling. Not what I want for the deer lease. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-22567-272672-d5cfeed1_882a_46e3_9230_928d4a42e34e.jpeg)

I have a Kawasaki mule FXT (6 seater), I’m about to add a single cab(3 seater) probably next year. My wife uses the FXT daily running around the neighborhood, and I’m tired of hauling it back and forth every where, so when dealerships get inventory and start making deals again I’ll probably getting a FX with HVAC, as my personal all around UTV.
In my FXT you can fit 3 men easy in front seat, in fact a lot of times it’s my wife, me and both my girls.
My only real complaint is seat style while comfortable isn’t exactly plush. Thankfully they do now offer a contoured version

If you have 4 people in there, its hard to talk over engine noise. If you have helmets on, you can't hear anything anyway, and are always yelling. Not what I want for the deer lease. The single, biggest problem for any mobile hunting set up outside of an enclosed cab. To be heard by others, people have to speak louder than the engine noise (think about it). Your quarry can and will hear voices before they hear the sound of the motor. Been, there, done that - know this to be true.

I ended up buying a Mule pro FXT today. Seems like a good compromise. Has the two rows of seats and small bed in one configuration but also can collapse the seat and get a bigger bed. I really liked the can am but it was so long I was worried about high centering and just turning around.

I chose the Honda Pioneer 700-2. I spent too many years trying to accommodate others. Now, I only concern myself with me & the wife. I felt like the shortest machine would be the best for me. That has already proved itself several times. Tight turning radius & lighter weight.
Zero complaints.
