Yesterday the cooler temperatures and low humidity was too nice to stay inside. I took a couple pistols to the woods and shot. I mostly just plink but ammo was out of two recently loaded batches. I shot a group with each to see how they were gonna shoot. Groups were 25 yards offhand slow fire. 357 loads were 158 XTP over H 110. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-62286-230304-cd916112_0cc3_4ec2_b507_b375cf8ccd80.jpeg) Center to center group for six (wheel full) out of the Ruger flat top: 1.775-.358=1.419” @ 25 yd ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-62286-230306-3cc0d271_4187_4cd5_a732_285ef39c07f1.jpeg) .45 acp loads were 230 grain Hornady HAP over W 231 ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-62286-230307-a20e23f2_2aa1_4fdb_855d_499b5f8ec29a.jpeg) Center to center group for the .45 acp for seven (mag full) for the Springfield mil spec: 1.461-.451=1.01”@25 yd. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-62286-230308-762d4209_7ee2_46c4_8ff0_9ad1b2700af8.jpeg) Dang it was nice to get out and shoot a little bit!

.45 ACP and W231 is like a .308 and Varget. Just seems to work. Nice shooting, especially with the 1911.

Very nice! With me shooting off hand at 25 yards, I'd have to have a larger target and a lot more ammunition to get 'em all on the paper. I consider most hand guns, in my hands, unless rested, to be bludgeons. Now, inside 10 yards I'm OK. ..

Thank y’all for the kind words. At age 59 I don’t know how much longer my arms are gonna be long enough....
