Yesterday the cooler temperatures and low humidity was too nice to stay inside. I took a couple pistols to the woods and shot. I mostly just plink but ammo was out of two recently loaded batches. I shot a group with each to see how they were gonna shoot. Groups were 25 yards offhand slow fire.
357 loads were 158 XTP over H 110.

.45 ACP and W231 is like a .308 and Varget. Just seems to work.

Nice shooting, especially with the 1911. up

Very nice! With me shooting off hand at 25 yards, I'd have to have a larger target and a lot more ammunition to get 'em all on the paper. I consider most hand guns, in my hands, unless rested, to be bludgeons. Now, inside 10 yards I'm OK. ..

I hear ya...in the same boat myself. Several of my handguns wear optics now for that reason.
