cbump does have a point. I was in the Air Force and I should have known lol. But in all actuality, they are all Soldiers in my opinion.
Well, your opinion would be wrong because I wasn't a Soldier. I was a FMF Corpsman in the Navy which means I was with stationed with the Marine Corp and I gurantee you they wouldn't want to be called Soldiers either. It's offensive.

LMAO, Oh well, I will continue to call them like I want. I can't believe you are serious. This is petty, and no offense was meant by me or FO4, but if you are offended that is not my problem.

The word "soldier" is, by definition, a person that is in the Army. Having said that, the general public uses the generic word "soldier" to mean anyone in the military. Is t's convention, not correct, but usually no harm or insult is intended. In fact a name once used for Marines was "soldiers from the sea". It's actuate but Marines are bit touchy about their title: Marine.
If a civilian called me a soldier, it wouldn't bother me, but I would gently correct them.
The same holds true in this situation. There was and is not, any intent to be offensive. I think the idea of having a place for some military to go and participate in a hunt is great. Thanks for that effort.
It's amazing how clam I am tonight. I must be getting old.
"To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."

OK guys enough highjacking of this thread..Start up your own thread to dicuss the political correct term for somebody that has served for our country!
By the way my Dad is probably older than most on here(maybe not all) and was serving when most were in diapers or just a twinkle in their parents eyes and he is a solider and damn proud of it!
Gordan,
Sorry for my rant!

Exactly! He is damn proud of being a Soldier and I am damn proud of being a Green Side Sailor, and Marines are damn proud of being Marines.

I think only Marines are taught that, or care about that. Most marines are touchy about their service. I am proud of mine, but don't take it to the extreme the marines seem to.

That's why you are not a Marine. No big deal. We all serve the People. I would not seriously demean any persons service. BUT...If you think that will stop me from having fun at the expense of others you are seriously mistaken.
I will pick on every other service out there, with the exception of our FMF Corpsmen. We love and protect our "Docs"!

LMAO, I have no doubt that is a true statement.
When I joined I joined the U.S. military to serve my country, I just happened to do it in the Army. I was not interested in the title. What kind of brainwashing did they do to you guys?

I will say one thing, I am a Veteran Now back to the original subject. As I said, looks like the water leak is fixed. Hopefully they will cut the electricity on today and then I can see more to clean. Too danged hot to do it right now with no fan or anything. It has no air conditioners but a fan will help when the electricity is on. Im ready to get it fixed and find some furniture as well as a stove and fridge for it and get it fixed for hunting season and the Soldiers who will be staying.

Gordon,
Bill and I are forever and always shopping garage sales, flea markets, etc. I'll start looking for appliances and furniture for this house.
Alot of times, there is free furniture on C/L I'll keep you posted on what we find. Hopefully we can deliver this ourselves and give you a hand with the house.

That rattle snake would have gotten me if it were not for Grey. Janie, thank you very much. I had to take some calves to Childress to get them vaccinated, ear marked, castrated, and branded today. When I got back, the electricity was on at the house. I was very happy. Now me and the Wife can get in there and see what we are doing and get it cleaned. Im looking for a swamp cooler right now to atleast be able to cool some of the house. They are usually pretty cheap.

Being that you have natural gas should make it easier to find a stove and heaters. Most of them can be re jetted, but it can be a pain.
Call some of the local real estate agents/brokers in the area towns. They know who is moving in and out and lot of the time they can tell you of some one that is remodeling / selling / buying home. You can pick up the left /over take outs for free.

Your right. I am going to get on what we call tradio that comes on the radio every morning on weekdays and see if anybody has a stove, fridge, gas heaters, beds, living room furniture and a/c's cheap. It is coming along great so far. I cleaned the kitchen yesterday and it looks totally different now lol. Next me and the Wife will tackle the bathroom and the rest of the house when we get back Sunday.
