Most of you remember me talking about being able to buy a house here in Paducah for $2000.00 so that I can put the Soldiers up for free when they come up to hunt for free. Well the lady is gracious enough to let me pay it out. The south side of the house on an 8 1/2' x 15' section has roll roofing and has a hole thru it. I am having to replace the decking as well along with the ceiling inside of that room. Thanks to RobertYuras he has donated enough metal to put over the new decking on the South Side and the small part that was roll roofing on the north side. I had the water turned on today and prayed for no leaks. Looks like most of it has pretty new plumbing. Did have one leak in the line runing to the cold water side of the kitchen sink which was easy to replace. The electricity will be on sometime after the 2nd and I can get to work on the clean up and start looking for a couple of window units and a stove and a fridge, along with a couple of beds and some living room furniture. If any of you know of anyone that wants to sell that stuff cheap let me know. Its not very long until deer season and looking forward to many Soldiers in the future. Thank you helomech. Its been fun getting this started. Had one Soldier up here already which most of you know as Grey on the forum. We had a blast and took out several jack rabbits.

you know what would be funny, if FO4 was lying about this and taking all the money to build himself a heck of a cabin for his lease. lol im just jokin around sounds like you have alot more work to do, but i bet it will pay off at the end

Have you looked into any type of grants or possibly sponsorships or anything? I wish I had a little extra right now to help you out some.

Seems like a project like this would easily draw some attention to the sponsors business. May be find someone that could cover the soldiers travel expenses or something.

helomech it doesnt matter to a lot of them as long as they can get out. I hope that it is a very contagious idea on here and everyone gets the chance to take a Soldier or a lot of Soldiers hunting. They all deserve it. Some dont even want to hunt but just get away and enjoy the outdoors.

Hey G-man, you should try and set up a work day far enough ahead of time and let folks here know about it.
Maybe some them who want to be involved would come up and help out and see what all you got going on for the soldiers, could turn into a big meet and greet for a lot of us here on the forum .
Yeah you got some work to do on the house, but like I said when Grey was here, a dry place to sleep, a working bathroom and most troops are happy...lol I know I was .
Anyway got a good thing going here, hope you get a lot of soldiers up to hunt !

A Great Big Thunbs Up to a Stand-Up Guy
Great guy and enjoyed outr visit last month

I did too Central. A storm came thru and blew the stand over before I had a chance to brace it. Me and Grey picked it up. No damage except one window broke. I just got the new replacement window in yesterday and will be replacing it. That stand is AWESOME. By the way, thanks to Grey I didnt get bit by the rattle snake that was under it when we lifted it back up. Its braced now and ready for some Soldiers come Deer Season.

I found out something today. The house has pretty new plumbing but the line runing to the house isnt new at all. Im in the process of diging it up now to fix a leak lol. Oh well thats the Melton luck lol. Its cheap to fix when you do it yourself

Woohoo. I think the water leak is fixed. Got a pressure coupling and cut the bad part out of the water line and it isnt leaking YET.

Why don't you say service members, or do you only take Soldiers?

Well I guess your right cbump. Service Members does sound better but I also want to take Disabled Veterans as well.

cbump does have a point. I was in the Air Force and I should have known lol. But in all actuality, they are all Soldiers in my opinion.
