I’m in north Texas
I went today looking for the first time this year, nothing yet
It may be a little early, just seeing if anybody else has had any luck

I have already found sheds two weeks ago in Houston County. I had a one sided rack on a deer in late January. But there are others still with their full racks.

Theres another thread on same topic that has a bunch of comments that may help the curious. Just a few days back, if that many.

My father in law shot a spike last week and the horns fell off when the bullet struck it. Does that count?

Saw two fresh killed bucks hit by vehicles on the side of the road this past weekend in south Bexar County, south of San Antonio that still had both sides.
Seeing them run over like that almost makes me wonder if there was a little late rut going on, but seems like that would be really late for the area.

I always saw shed 'hunting' as hunting's version of participation trophies. However, I am going to participate looking this year for these guys' headgear as soon as they drop them: ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/03/full-21311-221070-img_1280.jpg)

Had a buck show up around the house today and both antlers are gone. Looked pretty fresh to me.

Found 1st one yesterday. It is a decent one. Caught off guard by it. Maybe because it so dry. Lasalle County.

Man I was holding off with my antler trap so I wouldn't be too early and I look out the window this morning and there is Mr. Big Stuff, with one antler. I really wanted to get his antlers and there is a nice 10 that has dropped but I recognize him. There were other smaller bucks still carrying head gear.

![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/03/full-66255-221317-img_3707.jpg) Found 1 lil' bitty shed a young five point and then the 6 point attached. Pretty unusual to see the nicer antlers this early. Saw a young, healthy buck who had lost both. Saw four bucks with full sets of head gear. Our place in Lasalle County is extremely dry - don't know if that has anything to do with the early drops.
