I’m in north Texas

I went today looking for the first time this year, nothing yet

It may be a little early, just seeing if anybody else has had any luck

I have already found sheds two weeks ago in Houston County. I had a one sided rack on a deer in late January. But there are others still with their full racks.

Theres another thread on same topic that has a bunch of comments that may help the curious. Just a few days back, if that many.

My trail cams suggest they still have head gear in Parker County.

Saw my first one on the camera today, he was a young 8 with one side missing....OH Ivie area.

Still have headgear in Robertson county

Little 6 that's now a 3 and looks a bit beat up...this was taken on Friday of last week, the 28th.

Still have headgear in San Saba county.

Found two in Stephens county this weekend.

My father in law shot a spike last week and the horns fell off when the bullet struck it. Does that count?

saw a one horned buck in New Braunfels this day.

Saw two fresh killed bucks hit by vehicles on the side of the road this past weekend in south Bexar County, south of San Antonio that still had both sides.

Seeing them run over like that almost makes me wonder if there was a little late rut going on, but seems like that would be really late for the area.

Found three this past weekend.

Looked last weekend but no luck, will try again in a few weeks.

Still have the headgear north of Cisco according to my cameras

Still have some racks showing up on cam as of last week in Taylor county south of Abilene.

If I get time I am going to try and run up to our place in southern Oklahoma and see if I can stumble across some this weekend

Check cameras last week, they all still have their antlers!

I always saw shed 'hunting' as hunting's version of participation trophies. However, I am going to participate looking this year for these guys' headgear as soon as they drop them:

Had a buck show up around the house today and both antlers are gone. Looked pretty fresh to me.

Found 1st one yesterday. It is a decent one. Caught off guard by it. Maybe because it so dry. Lasalle County.

Man I was holding off with my antler trap so I wouldn't be too early and I look out the window this morning and there is Mr. Big Stuff, with one antler. I really wanted to get his antlers and there is a nice 10 that has dropped but I recognize him. There were other smaller bucks still carrying head gear.

Found 1 lil' bitty shed a young five point and then the 6 point attached. Pretty unusual to see the nicer antlers this early. Saw a young, healthy buck who had lost both. Saw four bucks with full sets of head gear.

Our place in Lasalle County is extremely dry - don't know if that has anything to do with the early drops.
