Fixed freaking focus. Pretty complex system in such a short chassis. To incorporate a focus would make it the length of a more traditional scope. Additionally, you are likely to be parallax free on everything less than 10X.

MSRP $2899. It'll sell for $2000ish on the street. Edit: it's already listed at some retailers for $1999. The prices will only go down from there.

That’s a sweet optic for the money.

For what it is it should be interesting...
Comparing to nx8 it will have 34mm, reticle with wind marks, .1mil vs .2 mil, capped turrets
It’s closer to atacr but has a bit more mag and a few hundred cheaper
Optically if it’s good it should sell very well. The gen 2 1-6 is considered one of the better lpvo and this should be an improvement

This will be 2k and should be closer to 1900-1800 after they are available. Is it worth 50% more? Atacr is a good scope but I am not sure what the 50% premium gets me. And for those that say build quality. Razors are built well. Between the nx8 and the gen 3 for the same money I think the gen 3 will be a better offering but it remains to be seen

Not the case with NF.

Not the case with NF. Didn’t say the word warranty... Razor and Atacr have same build quality from what I have seen. I have seen both go down. I would also venture to say razors out sale atacr by a factor of 2-3 I also have used the warranty on a 10+ year old scope that I broke and they covered it. Scope was doing great but I messed it up

Yeah, Razors might outsell ATACRs. Cheaper, great warranty. Some of us don't want to break down in the first place.
Of course you've used the Vortex warranty, that's my point.

Looks like a really nice scope. Personally, I wouldn't pay $2k for it.

Of course you've used the Vortex warranty, that's my point. All of Vortex's have been in for warranty, build quality is just not that great, and my spotting scope needs to go in. The SS is my last sub-par optic I need to replace with quality. The NF's have not had one problem, and build quality is far superior. Not cheap, but then again, I am done with inferior optics.

So here is a funny...my NF benchrest 12x42 scopes have all been replaced with Vortex Golden Eagles 15x60's. Also have, two PST gen1's and carry Fury binos. I also owned one of their rangefinders that I sold when I bought the Fury’s and a razor spotting scope that I replaced with a Nightforce TS-82.
Never sent a Vortex in but I have sent a Nightforce (parallax laid down). To be fair, I don’t treat my stuff like a tool I use it and respect things for what they cost. Not a thing wrong with that, different people do different things....you paid for yours and I paid for mine.
My point...Vortex is a serviceable product and especially if your a user like me.

My point...Vortex is a serviceable product and especially if your a user like me. I'm the same way with my gear, unless I'm shooting one of Jason's matches. Then my gear will inevitably be in an F'ng flood. I've owned as much Vortex gear as anyone here, and I've used their warranty twice. The first time was a Gen 1 PST 6-24 that Jason owned, then another THF'r owned. By the time I got it, it was screwed up. I sent it to Vortex and they determined it had a bent tube due to the rings being overnighted. They sent me a new scope of the same model, no questions asked. The second time was a Gen 2 PST 5-25 that had a bad zero stop. It was not functional when I took it out of the box. Again, they sent me a new scope. As far as their high-end scopes, my Gen 2 Razor has been flawless and it's my favorite scope. If it was 20 ounces lighter, I'd use it for everything.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

I've had some Vortex binos and a Razor spotter for a long time with no issues. I bought a new PST2 when it first came out and the elevation knob didn't work right. I returned it to the seller as defective rather than send in for warranty. Got an SWFA HD 5-20 for basically the same price and didn't look back.

Look at these Vortex fans telling how good Vortex took care of them after their optics were F-ed up.
And then in the world of the internet, I see people asking "how does Night Force treat you, if you need warranty work?" People ask because it is so rare for one to break. I don't intentionally treat my stuff roughly, but shootong and hunting, things happen. And you do that every week, and it adds up. Plus, I get a long way from the house with rifle and scope. Reliability is paramount. Is there better glass than NF, yes. Is there a tougher optic? In my opinion, no.
Look at it this way. If you were sent to Iran next week with your rifle and scope, would you rather take the one the Manufacturer is going to be easy to deal with after it breaks, or would you take the one that isn't going to break in the first place.
Yall don't let Judd fool you, he has a hook-up on Vortex optics as far as price goes. If he was paying retail he probably wouldn't have as many of them.

Agree (not with the Judd part, don't know him). I been hunting with Leupold 45 years, I don't have any experience with their warranty. Never needed it. But I trust that as the reputable company they are, they'd stand behind it. I have Vortex stuff, and I like it also.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
