Murder starts in the heart. Period. Murder is a calculated plot to kill someone. It's a terrible situation. No winners all losers. This young ladies life changed forever and she'll have to live with it. But putting her in prison will not change the outcome nor will it prevent something like that from happening again.

But the prosecution emphasized that Guyger could have retreated before she opened the door and even afterward. They said she could have backed off and used her police radio to call for help. Police headquarters is just blocks away from the apartment complex. Yeah, because Dallas PD has such a short response time.  It’s like they think we just sit at the station waiting for something to happen, like firemen  What's your response times? How about when a Dallas FD Engine company asked for PD code 3 four times, over 20 minutes, when a crazy with a butcher knife was attacking them? Then the Dallas engine Lieutenant asked for Richardson PD mutual aid because Dallas PD had still not shown. And Richardson PD was there in 3 minutes with the cavalry. You sure you want to poke at me, working in that chithole city, with record number of resignations, causing severe understaffing?

Usually Dallas county goes pretty light on manslaughter and you can kill someone and only go to prison for a couple of years I couldn't argue against manslaughter.

Been watching the whole thing from day 1. I've listened to all the witness and testimony. I have reasonable doubt that she committed murder or manslaughter. I would say Not Guilty.

When I was 16 I killed a guy walking his broke down motorcycle down an fm road in Rockwall county. Thank goodness you hard mofos weren't on the grand jury. Sorry that happened.  But that’s a whole lot different than this deal, or even running a stop sign and killing someone. That said, I highly doubt she will be convicted of murder. Sorry to hear and can't imagine that. I just learned earlier this year my grandmother ran over a kid many years ago... But no kidding it is way different. She made a decision and used her gun. It was calculated based on bad info apparently in her head. As a juror what percentage do you give someone made a mistake or just being stupid regardless of what caused it. A mistake is all info added up to reality and you went ahead anyway. Being stupid is you acted carelessly and didnt take all precautions before making a decision... jmo... Castle Law and Stand Your Ground cannot be used as defense when you walk into the wrong place. Something has to give. The Castle Law and stand your ground is being allowed. Judge allowed it.

We also handle over 1 million calls for service a year, DFD doesn’t come close to that. Their main prerogative is to get back to the house, and they will leave us on a mutual call without warning. They also cry wolf a LOT. Everything to them is a Code 3 response. A drunk guy walking away from them is a code 3 response. How many calls did Richardson PD handle last year?
