Seems like there hasn't been a lot of talk about the teal hunting this year and given how the season has gone so far I can understand why. Hunted opening day on the coast and got a limit, but had to walk a couple hundred yards across cracked dirt that would normally be shallow water. Hunted what could have equated to a large puddle. Then comes the deluge of Imelda. This past Saturday I hunted a more tidal area and did not shoot the gun. Higher than normal tides and heavy rains now have water 16-18 inches higher than normal. Yesterday morning I found some shallow freshwater in an area that would normally have none and managed another limit. Definitely a tough season so far but it could be worse, there could be NO ducks. Hoping for a strong ending this weekend. Get out and get after 'em, they are out there if you look. Pic is from yesterday's hunt.

Been tough on the Garwood prairie too. Sure hated to see Imelda inundate the east side.

We hunt around El Campo. 1/3 of the hunts have been limits, 1/3 half limits and 1/3 single bird or less. 3 bird average per hunt.

I sure hope they aren't a $1500 fine. I'd be screwed.

They are here in north Tx finally. I have seen them in the water the night before 2 out of last 3 weeks, and they have moved on in the morning on two occasions.

Last night zero on the lake- 3 big groups this am. One 30+ (private lake-that’s big group relatively speaking)

Too bad hunted solo but it’s been so skinny didn’t invite anybody is out last night
