I'm hoping they went north and will be back next week or the following week. We have a cold front coming down towards us around the first (so I hear). If they went south I don't know if they will migrate back north.

Either that or they know a meteor is speeding toward North Texas. I think they were abducted by aliens..or Oklahomans, which are the same thing.

Yesterday evening the pole saw broke on me so I actually had to take a break and it was the first time I've had the chance to do a little bird watching. I counted 63 over in young county south of graham. In town they are loaded! Hopefully that cool weather will get them to really fire up!

I saw more doves this morning on the trip from Weatherford to Granbury than I have in a month. May be something, may not.

There were about as many birds as last year at Woodson this morning. The fields looked better than ever however. Come on cold front!

Was at lease yesterday and zero birds in south Stephen's County. Same as last year..... I was there last weekend at ranch and saw 3 Fri to Sun. We didnt head to CR until dark so other parts are probably better. Buddy is at our lease in Montague now and seeing quite a bit. I did too a few weeks ago. And decent quail too.

I scouted my field in Murray this morning, and it was loaded. There were lots of big groups which makes me think they're fresh birds. I hope we can avoid any weather that would push them out before the opener. Is there an anti-rain dance?
