I know that they're both real popular but to me, the sandwiches are just ok.
Those Chik-Fil-A folks some kind of a Providential blessing going. good for them

Isn't life in America great now that we have so many choices. It wasn't that way when I was growing up on a Cotten farm in Arkansas.

Popeye's was great a couple decades ago, more and more downhill over the last few years. Church's spicy chicken can be good if you have a well run store close by, some are not.

I stopped at Chick-fil-A the other day with the line wrapped around the building. They had three employees outside taking orders. When I got to the window there was another employee taking food from the window to people cars. Barely had to stop and I was on my way. Chick-fil-A always has great service but I was amazed that day.

Stopped at a popeyes in Navasota yesterday to get a sandwich. Went to take a leak and OMG!! Looked like the restroom hadn't been cleaned for a few weeks. The sandwich was good, but I don't think I'll ever stop there again.

And for the record....its 100 times easier to keep a bathroom clean than a kitchen.....and they are making your food in that kitchen. Lots of places the first place I go is their restroom. If its nasty I'm gone!

Popeye's by my house is spotless, and always packed. Rare location for sure because most are a dump hole, but all take FOREVER. I'll wait for some spicy chicken though, and their sides compared to CFA's aren't even close.

I remember reading a book called Lonesome Dove. Gus got up to Nebraska and went on a picnic. He ate the meat off the bone, bit off the gristle, ate that, then cracked the bone and sucked the marrow. I always crack the turkey bones to make my stock after reading that book.

I’ve been to that Popeye’s in Navasota. Nasty, but not as nasty as the one in Farmerville, Louisiana, which also has/had nonexistent service. I’ve never eaten there because I never got waited on. Gave up and went elsewhere.
I wonder why their owners let the places get so dirty. I suspect that it might have to do with the majority of their customers and their housekeeping standards. Just a guess.

I was flying from New Orleans to Houston in the 70s and sat down next to one of the Popeyes start up guys. He's probably rich now.

Loyalty to the company isn't the only thing that matters to Cathy, who wants married workers, believing they are more industrious and productive. One in three company operators have attended Christian-based relationship-building retreats through WinShape at Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga. The programs include classes on conflict resolution and communication. Family members of prospective operators--children, even--are frequently interviewed so Cathy and his family can learn more about job candidates and their relationships at home. "If a man can't manage his own life, he can't manage a business," says Cathy, who says he would probably fire an employee or terminate an operator who "has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members."
The parent company asks people who apply for an operator license to disclose marital status, number of dependents and involvement in "community, civic, social, church and/or professional organizations."
But Danielle Alderson, 30, a Baltimore operator, says some fellow franchisees find that Chick-fil-A butts into its workers' personal lives a bit much. She says she can't hire a good manager who, say, moonlights at a strip club because it would irk the company. "We are watched very closely by Chick-fil-A," she says. "It's very weird."
