I'm in with my Abolt and Leupold duplex but I'll be dialing, the not Mil style.

No dialing, Scotty. The guys that have killed 7,000 creatures say it's not cool to dial when you're hunting.

It's a .243, I'll zero it for 234.7 yards and I should be good out to 521.8 right?

Prezackly right. Your way more smarter then I thot you was. grin

Well dang, I've been shooting a duplex and hold overs at all the previous matches! You mean to tell me y'all been dialing tactical scopes this whole time? Sissys!

Reading my mind, I had already decided to bring my regular stock, bold action Savage deer gun with my Burris FF2 BDC on it for the next one. Wont be dialing, just hold overs. Let the chips fall where they may.

^^^^^^^Yall keep going this direction and IM ALL IN. Im not even sure what a duplex reticle is but if it more closely simulates the type setup that im assuming 95% of "hunters" use(like me) then I think it will be a successful event that will likely get regular guys to consider upping their ante and doing whatever that dial thing is yall talk about all the time. Just don't do it during deer season.

Soooooo, what’s the minimum round/cartridge allowed Annoyinglongscreennamefella? Is this strictly a limited scope/UNlimited rifle match? Or turn it into only hunting calibers for deer size game? .223/556 and up? .243 and up confused2

Now this one is interesting, will there be caliber restrictions, velocity restrictions?

Alright now superduperlongazzfreakingscreennameguy, you can just drop atom bombs, walk away and not expect just a few inquiries on the matter.

If Josh were here, he’d beat you with a rubber hose mister!

I suggest throwing it out to the forum to decide the parameters of the rules. The spirit of the idea would be to simulate actual hunting situations(rifle, caliber, scope, positions, distance, number of rounds etc.) Maybe set up a poll/survey, or whatever its called, and list all the categories that need to be addressed and see what the consensus is. Theguywithstupidlongscreenname can still override the consensus and decide what the parameters are. I would personally like to find out how many "hunters" as opposed to "shooters" would be interested in doing this. If theres no interest then stay with your more precision shooting kinda rules. If the rules were hunter friendly then I would likely volunteer time to help pull this off(maybe throw in on the prize table).

I think you should allow tactical scopes and just say nobody gets to spin a turret. Otherwise, you need to put together, oh, lets say 5 exact rifles, all with fine crosshair scopes (so nothing on the reticle that could give you a 'hold' point) and provide a drop chart out to the furthest distance you want people to shoot.
