I got the return # mixed up between you and beaver on the 650.

I think you need to read up on exactly what change and what the standard deduction covered via its increase.

Congrats, Sounds like someone changed tax brackets. The big itemized changes already mentioned above, really weren’t that big when you factor in most people living in a 750k house probably had a house hold over 250k and where already losing portions of that deduction. Now the property tax could potentially be a big one.... but standard deduction went up 12k(so you would need to have property taxes in the 23k range).

I don’t own a business. If you own a small, or larger business, you are in much better hands.
A whole less deductions this year. Orale Vatos! Tsall good.

Your overall tax liability was more under the exact same income? Or you just had to pay 650 more this year at the end of the year then last year?

It was exactly the same income.
The difference was in no longer being able to deduct management fees, accountant fees, overseas securities tax and prop tax above 10 K. I also increased my 2019 estimated taxes by $1600 to pretty much not owe anything next year, plus to avoid small penalties.

If you are paying 8-12k in management and accounting fees, I wouldnt be up set via $650. I’d be upset you had same taxable income amount.

Seems like most people that paid more, made more.

Your refund doesn't mean a dang thing on the amount of taxes you paid last year and this year. Look at your total tax liability...Bobo is trying to educate above.

Yea there is a lot of people complaining about this that are just not smart enough to figure it out!

I'm amazed at the stupidity or ignorance of some and how the media prey on that. It's sad...

To know the real answer would require taking this years income and expenses and go through the computation of the tax liability based on last years tax laws.

That's one way, the harder way. It can be much more simpler...look at last years taxes and compare your liability to the income amount and do the same for this years. The ratio (percentage) has been lower on almost everyone I've looked at.
