I hope I didn't pay too much in. I don't like letting them hold it, they just find ways to waste it.

Yep, I just paid $650 more in taxes yesterday under this admin. I don’t own a business. If you own a small, or larger business, you are in much better hands. A whole less deductions this year. Orale Vatos! Tsall good.

Orale Vatos! Tsall good. Your overall tax liability was more under the exact same income? Or you just had to pay 650 more this year at the end of the year then last year?

Have a "day job" as well as my consulting practice (S-corp). My accountant is darn good and knows how to maximize deductions and minimize tax liability. There are many deductions folks don't consider that my accountant told me about. He is a personal friend and doesn't charge me a dime, but he gets a few gifts in the mail each year regardless. And those are written off as business expense.

You guys whining do realize that you probably paid less total taxes this year on the same amount of income, right?
Your refund doesn't mean a dang thing on the amount of taxes you paid last year and this year. Look at your total tax liability...Bobo is trying to educate above.

We go tomorrow. Not looking forward to writing that check.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

There really arent to much to increase your total tax liability.... house interest on a house from 750-999k, property taxes well over 10k, and union dues. Vast majority of people came out a way head on the increase standard deduction. So you are saying you made same amount of w2 income. Pretty sure it can be Noted that the itemization limitions and stand deductions increase where in place last year....biggest difference was employer withholdings schedule this year. I’m damn sure glad Republicans stopped Obama on his tax hike to certain income levels and I’m damn sure glad for Trumps tax plan.

There are no more itemized deductions compared to 2017, if you solely are just W2. 1099 that’s different.

Well the CPA call about two weeks ago and said we owe $1000 which I don't understand when I believe my salary was down $17,000 from 2017. The house is paid off and we have now kids so only the standard deduction so really need to go over everything.

Also, if married filing jointly your standard deduction went Waaaaaay up, up so much that even if you itemize you'll still likely be better off with the std deduction.

My refund went from around $2,300 last year to $4,600 this year. My income was the same except for my RMD. It went up and I withhold 25%. The refund covered my property taxes and my homeowners.
