Can anyone recommend a good quality window I can use on a 4x6 plywood blind?
I've been building plywood flap windows and using paracord to hold open...simple and works well but wanting something to see out and keep closed on cold days.
Thanks - Kris

Same here for Deerview. But order them now they get busy the closer you get to hunting season
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

If all you want is to replace your plywood flap windows, consider polycarbonate (sometimes called Lexan) sheets. A 0.125" X 24" X 96" 5109 bronze polycarbonate sheet runs about $120. just cut it to size and use the hardware your using for the plywood flap windows. I did this for a 4x6 blind. If you use cabinet hinges, you don't need the cord. However, when closed it's not tight like a window with frames.
Just another option.

Deerview are good. What I have in my new fiberglass blind are even better but I’m not sure of the brand. What I don’t like about Deerview is the hinge system. If the wood expands or contracts too much then the window can slip out. Deerview also uses 2 twist clamps to seal the window to the blind. My windows use cabinet hinges with double rubber trim for 2 layers of seal.

Here is a link to a thread about windows I made for a blind. Home made plex windows. I learned from the first couple of pop rivets, cracked the plex, to not over tighten the pop rivet. I just squeezed the rivet handle until the plex was snug against the frame then I used a Dremel cut-off wheel to cut the stems off. I have to admit, the next time I needed blind windows I broke down and bought Deerview windows and have been very happy with them.

Will you guys be at the Texas Trophy Hunter Extravaganza in Houston next week? Seems like I've seen you there in the past.
Thanks - Kris

I bought Deerview windows for a blind a plant to start building this weekend. Two to three lead time. I should have started earlier in the year.
Thanks, Billy

Deerview makes great windows but this time of year expect 4-5 weeks lead time. I ordered some a month ago, but worth the wait.

Deerview. Trouble with the hinges when the wood expands was mentioned earlier. I’ve had no such issues with several stands for a few years. I see how it could happen though. I built mine where both hinges are on the same board running horizontal. Simple fix.

I use butt splices for shower panels, a thin sheet of plexiglass will slide up in the butt joint 2' long pieces screwed to the sides of the stand window on the insides and slide sheet of plexiglass up to shoot out the window.

Dickinson Hardware in Dickinson Texas has a back wall full of Deer stand Windows of all sizes. They keep them in stock, you can order them from their website or go directly to their supplier if you like. https://www.thedeerblindwindow.com/I built another stand and couldn't wait on Deerview lead time so I drove down the road to Dickinson and bought 4, 36x10. Installed them this weekend, works great. thanks Billy
Thanks, Billy
