Wanted to get some input and experiences with different types of window designs. The two Im considering are sliding which will be plexi in wooden frame with tracks cut out and and flip up just on hinges.

I created window frames out of the window screen repair kits you can get form Home Depot or Lowes. I then pop riveted plexiglass windows on the frames. Here is a pictuer of the windows I created.

I bought some alumninum extruded h track and made a top and bottom slide out of them. They have a 3/8" channel in them. Im using 1/4" plexi for windows that slide. The track was $3.49 for a 10 ft stick. Soon as I head back to the woods, I will take a picture.

Have you had any problems with them being to loud in movement? They are made out of aluminum and plexiglass, they make no noise at all. If you want a little more info on how I made them, PM me.

If your looking for a good deal on plexiglass, look at E Street Plastics. They are on the internet and out the Dallas area. Easy online ordering and only too a couple of days to get my shipment in. Best prices anywhere on 1/4" x 12" x 4' plexi. Even cheaper than my uncle who owns a glass business.

Just checked, and the ESTREETPLASTICS.COM still looks like a good place for plexiglass. I bought a sheet from Lowes, and had them cut it into 12" strips. The 12" x 48" 1/8" thick sheets from E Street Plastics would have been a better deal. If you want sliding windows, you could buy the 1/4" sheet and cut a groove in the window frame... sliding window.

Deer View Windows is the way to go. I have built the plywood and Plexiglas windows. Spent a lot of time and money on the windows, after I ran the numbers its way easier to just buy them. The hinge windows at Deer View are a really great product for the money. We build blinds and stopped making windows after finding Deer View. Chad www.chaddavidoutdoors.com
