did someone cut the barrel? That’s the new super sniper flush crown.

I’ve seen Morgan at class3machining thread much worse, he had one last yr it was as some Russian surplus type rifle the bore was way off center and still was able to thread it for a can without baffle strikes lol. I remember reading an article about rifle bores not being perfectly straight due to slight bends in the bit. It was talking about making sure the chamber was concentric with that end of the bore and the same with the crown. I wish I could find it. I found a pic, it was a Mosin. Bore was straight just not center d. How did it shoot?

Once you fired it a few times and got the barrel heated up, the stress in the metal would cause major POI shifts, or the shot string to walk on you.

I'm planning on rebarreling my savage in the near future. Has me wanting to cut the barrel in half to see... but I really wanted to keep the barrel so I could put it back if I wanted to.

It just occurred to me that this is probably why Leupold makes those windage-adjustable bases

Every barrel maker has barrels like that, you just can't tell without cutting the barrel length off.
It's pretty hard to drill a perfectly straight hole in a piece of metal over 2 ft long.
