Just found out I won an auction for the rifle I've wanted since I was a kid looking at the rifle my uncle used on elk and mulies up in Idaho. A Newton 1st production in 256 Newton (think 6.5-06). Paint me a happy camper! BTW - I'll have a rifle to sell as soon as I get them. Anyone interested in a 1920 Savage in 300 Savage? (Bottom rifle in the pic)

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.
Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

Teal, they had a model 54 in the auction in 30 Newton. Wow that would be nice. I have one in 270. What was the price on the 30?

I looked it up. It was a pre-64 Model 70 in 30 Newton. It was packaged with a Pre-64 in 270. Those two combined went for $1380.00 including the 'buyers premium'.
