Old school 30-30 with Digital Crosshairs night vision

just built a 300 black out. Can't wait to try it. my 223 was just not enough for night hunting.

Well my favorite would be a 7 1/2 inch Ruger BlackHawk in 45 Long Colt. I'd rather hunt hog's with it than any other.

My next hog hunt will be with a handgun. Been wanting to do this for awhile!

Do it, it's fun and challenging. My favorite wheel gun for pigs is a Dan Wesson 357 Mag w/6" barrel. Good grips with red ramp sights. There is nothing like belly crawling up to a sounder and dropping one after another quickly as they try to figure out what is happening and where it came from. Had a pig fall dead 4 feet from me while squeezing off on another one. It's a rush.

My usual setups are:

1. KAC SR-15 LPR with IMI 5.56x45mm 77 Grain Razor Core HPBT Match for longer range shooting.
2. Sig P229 loaded with Buffalo Bore 9mm +P 147 Grain Hard Cast Lead Flat Nose
3. Rossi model 92 in .45 LC with a "16 barrel for the brush.

Me too. Hogs aren't particular about what you kill them with.

Picture a sounder of hogs in a nice cool wallow in Hog Heaven.

Hog One: Harrump! I was shot with a custom Lawson .264 Winchester magnum!
Hog Two: Well, I was shot with an original Oberndorf 9x57 Mauser. Top that.
Hog Three: Hangs his head, and regretfully admits "I was shot with an old .30-30 using Walmart ammo."

The other hogs snicker.

8" suppressed 300BLK with 3-14 XSight2 for night, daytime whatever I have.

My REAL favorite is the Hughes M230 Chain Gun, but my darned neighbors always bust my chops when I break it out and begin mowing the sounders, saying it's too loud and, in their opinion, more gun than I really should be using. . .

If I expect distances of under 100 yards, I hunt with a M1 Garand with a Lasermax IR clamped under the barrel, spitting 165 ft TTSXs. It makes the point that "shot placement" is only important with kiddie guns.


It does tend to irritate my hunting buddies with the suppressed 300s


For reaching out and using thermal, it's an AR in 6.8 SPC.
