A company named Witt Machine actually has a "Muzzle Rise Eliminator" on their website they claim it keeps the barrel in place. Has anyone heard of this?

Man, that is an awesome article. Just learned way more than I ever wanted to know about feed ramps, mags and too much more. You might want to access youtube while you're reading if you are a novice like me...just saying.
I got a shotgun, a rifle and a 4WD.

I'm new to the shooting game, and decided an AR-15 was a "must have". That being said, do I go with a cheap rifle? (they are out there for under $600) or spend nearly 3X that much and get one that is already pimped out, upgraded and ready to go in its stock form? After much research (well, speaking with people mainly and some youtube videos) I chose the latter and went with the deluxe version because I look at this as an investment to last a lifetime. I have to thank the guys at http://www.machineguntours.com for helping me out with all of this, very knowledgeable on firearms. Plus Daniel Defense manufactures for the military too, so it's proven and tested. If our boys are using it, then I feel it should be good for my domestic use as well. So what did I get? I picked up a Daniel Defense AR-15 DDM4V7lw and it is AWESOME. The lw stands for light-weight, and it is. We just went shooting the 1st time with it this weekend during one of their machine gun events, and out of all the guns I shot there (Sig, M2HB, CZ, Ruger, etc), as fun as they were (especially full-auto), and as much as I liked shooting my handgun as well (we have a 380 Sig and 9mm Ruger), this rifle blew me away. It just shoots good. My wife loves it too. So if you're still thinking, I would HIGHLY recommend a top of the line AR rifle. We now plan on picking up a few more rifles (over pistols/shotguns), because of how much we're liking this one. Just not sure if we stick w/the AR platform of go with a mini-14, a 308, bullpup or some other kind???

Don't know who is telling you that .225/556 isn't affective. I've tajen dozens of them with .223. You cannot take a shoulder or chest shot. And a vitals shot needs to be dead on because you won't get much of a blood trail.
I wouldnt use either 223/300aac or 30/30 at more than maybe 150 to 175 yrds. they will drop the hogs at that distance, but you pretty much need a good neck shot.
I'm kinda thinking that is exactly why they said a 223 isn't effective. A 6.8, Grendel or 458 Socom would be a better choice. You don't need to wait until you have a between the eye shot to kill them. Here is a video of the 6.8 killing hogs...topped with a Zeus thermal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jfAWKfYsUUY

Hi Guys I'm new here. My friend also told me about AR-15 but never tried it. Should I dare try it as soon as possible? I like the feedback I get from this thread.

Watch youtube videos on how to disassemble and reassemble and how to fix malfunctions. Its always good to be educated on a particular weapon before you purchase or shoot it.

I've seen the Witt Machine clamp on version work great on a 300winny the transformation in muzzle deflection was amazing. Not sure how it do much on an ar15 though they are already pretty tame. Guess I've not seen a brake on a 15 or at least the crowd i'm with. I will vouch for the Witt I saw though on the 300.

Can't tell a bit of difference in recoil though with mine. http://phase5wsi.com/fatman-hex-brake-5.56-.223-1-2-x-28-tpi.html

I have checked few videos on youtube about AR-15. It looks promising to me. Now, my question which brand AR-15 rifle is better. Real experience comment will be appreciated.

His mentors... www.militarymorons.com ..... industry hookups, get's his hands on some cutting edge kit and demo's products in development for manufacturers due to his "breadth"of familiarity and knowledge. Kit he demos is often operationally in the field by SOCOM personel.. www.lightfighter.com forums ..... lotta HSLD, the AR (M4) tweaks and performance mods that are considered de riguer on a quality AR were perfected by some of the guys on that site. I've met quite a few at SHOT and training seminars over the years, a lot of manufacturers, industry reps, former/current CAG, SF, spec ops/intel/field ops guys that really know the tools of their trade. Pros, Operators, PMC, amateurs, hobbyists.... lotta meat on the bone. Stay in your lane, you'll be gtg. Lot's of good info on youtube. Though having served in the army, I much prefer the opinion of a 30yr US Army Gfox, ODA, bat boy, or SFOD veteran. There's a difference.
