It's very relevant. It illustrates the topic of the reliability of advanced digital devices... like the ATN X-Sight. Very often, Expectations do not equal Reality.
I was going to reference the other troll thread - but it's strangely disappeared.
+1 to the Mod or Admin who made that happen.
I will report if I have a similar issue with my 3x. I highly doubt I will, considering the M1 Carbine's recoil is practically nonexistent. If I do, though... I will let everyone know.

Maybe you will have ALL of the issues in one scope! You never know! Excitement! It's what keeps life interesting! I can hardly wait to find out!
My other thread (which you didn't even have to look at) bothered you that much? That makes it seem like the perfect place for you. Why aren't you more sad?

Tech problems don't bother me much. It'll work, be fixed, or returned. My life doesn't depend on my X-Sight. Why cry over what I don't like endlessly on a forum, instead of return it and move on?

Obstruction of an honest depiction of a product is something better left to people who get paid by the producer. Two dozen other people like me are sharing their frustrations...something that would have prevented me from taking the step to make my purchase...had those insights been available at the time. No need to convince anyone other than yourself that you like it. Others have had a much different experience. That's OK. You like it. You share that. Others don't. They share that...but you don't like it.
That seems weird to me.

Let's keep this on topic please.
Personal attacks and bypassing the language filter ends now, or this whole thread/topic is endangered. This thread is large, and brings in a lot of viewers and opinions, which is good. The personal attacks and language being someone's first view of our forum is bad.

It's naive to believe marketing. Do research, gather info, understand the risks, and own your decision.

At that time, these threads did not exist. I am not sure how many times, over the last several pages, that has been mentioned, but it is not less true now. That research wasn't available. Some of us preordered (didn't you?) on the false reliability that would seem to be offered by a 20-year-old company. From this fact, I believe we can move on, based on the number of previous mentions alone.

I admit, I had prior knowledge going in. CMOS technology, ATN's prior so-so reputation, 1 GHz processor capabilites, but I also dug around and found as much info as I could about the underlying tech. In the end, it was a pretty big risk. I took it. Don't worry, I won't need anyone to beat me up over it, if it doesn't work out. My wife will do that better than anyone. She has lots of practice

Unfortunately my 3x adjustable focus x-sight is losing focus after the shot. It is causing a shift in where you obtain focus using the manual adjustment focus ring. What I mean is where you have the focus adjusted prior to the shot will not be the same point after you lose focus.
It is a 30 cal AR
I'll need to contact ATN

Is the actual focus ring moving...or is it internal?

I'm no expert - but I'd say it is internal due to the fact that the refocus point is moving closer to the end range of the adjustment rings travel.

Has anyone tested the newest 3x version on a smaller caliber rifle ? Since HTXhogs scope is the newest version and there's also video confirmation of another scope failing, I can assume that ATN didn't test the scope on .30 caliber rifles. Looks like my 3x scope purchase is on hold for now.

What do you say, MoShootr? Sounds like it's time for us to get our scopes mounted and pay the piper. I've been itching to do just that. The weather up here has been horribad. Cabin fever is getting the best of most of us, up here in the Show-Me state. I don't anticipate a recoil issue on my M1 Carbine. A softer recoiling gun is awfully hard to find, without going rimfire. So, if it does turn out to have a recoil issue with THIS gun, well then, there's something majorly wrong. We'll see.

So the scope issue went away in the newest video ? Maybe a loose battery cap ? Does anyone know why they would flash the pigs with the tripod mounted IR lights in the video's ? Thanks for the update VA. Let us know how the scope functions and good luck on your hunt. HTXHogs, did you have the .228 or .200 version loaded into your scope ?

Scope focus is a hardware item
I was running 228 firmware
It is good to know less than 308 recoil may not be an issue, lightweight 308's and upper class .30 cal guns will test the scope's limits apparently.

So you're saying I wasn't being as funny as I thought I was when I joked that this heavy monster was my new X-SiGHT rig? Suppose my focus will drift as the drum empties, and I bleed off some mass? Maybe the flare launcher would offset that.

HTXHogs, did you have the .228 or .200 version loaded into your scope ? My guess is that they have game cams with infrared flash watching the feeder. I'll let everyone know how the hunt goes. Hopefully we will remember to hit the record button. Bad news is I just talked to my cousin last night and he said he hasn't seen much hog sign around. He thinks his cousin has another property we can hunt on with pigs if we don't see anything.

The Good new is that the newest firmware .234 Beta is being tested! It has fixed the shifting Reticule on zoom. And some other not yet specified problems. Should be released this week.

So now I have to decide if I want to try a new software load before my hunt next week, with no chance to sight in again.
