Flashing, it is the number #1 thing on our list once we transition over to the new SDK. No point fixing it on the current SDK.
Sachal, Will ya'll be switching to the new SDK on the next update? Or can you tell us what to expect in the future as far as firmware updates go? Looks like the two major things I'm seeing is the reticle not centered and the night flickering. Will these be addressed next? Thanks! Once transitioned over to the new SDK, the number 1 fix would be the centered reticle. The new SDK is a lot more efficient and will also help with the battery life. So here are the first 3 priorities with the new SDK. 1 - Centered reticle zoom 2 - sleep mode - when inactive 3 - NV mode optimization

Actually there are 3 screws that are there. 2 visable and one under the key one the ceter of the scope that requires a small phillips and a flathead screwdriver to check.

Is there any news on the factory external battery pak, or any ill effects of using the mini usb port with an external battery pak ?
I know it's not as important as the firmware issues, but Inquiring minds would like to know ? Since I updated the scope, I haven't had any issues with flickering in NV and dimming, but I do get a red hue in the screen for a couple of seconds after selecting NV mode, but it go's away in a couple of seconds. I tried to recorded it, but it doesn't show up. I noticed while I was viewing in day mode, that the picture would get brighter when viewing under trees and overhangs. The focus in recorded video is clearer now too. I'm going to put it to the test this weekend and see how it handle's cold weather. It's Supposed to be in the single digits all weekend.

I just received my 5x X-Sight this week. Not sure if this behavior is related to firmware, but I wanted to post in case this is affecting others. The issue is when I have the scope connected to my iOS Obsidian app and using the View Finder in the app. All is well, and I can clearly see what the scope is seeing. However, when I zoom in on the scope, the iOS app crashes. The scope itself zooms, and everything looks fine through the scope. Restarting and reconnecting the iOS app, and I'm able to use the app View Finder just fine again...until I zoom again. This is very repeatable. I saw this with firmware .174 that shipped with the scope and with .200 I loaded last night. I haven't tried .228 as I am holding off upgrading due to some of the issues reported on this thread. The iOS Obsidian app is version 1.1, which appears to be the latest available. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Are y'all sighting in and always shooting at the same zoom level? I am using 1X for now for all shooting due to: 1: floating reticle 2: POI shift when zooming from 1x to 3x. Could not go higher due to item 1. Not sure if others have tried this but mine moved 2 inches up and left from 1x to 3x. Back to 1x and in POI back to where expected. Leaving at 1x until the elusive 2.00.xx shows up. I find 1x works fine for nighttime activities.

I don't find it that useful unless im shooting a humming bird.
I'm a terrible shot but I follow up with a grenade!

I'm headed to my lease tomorrow, will test my scope for ZOOM/POI, and report back when I return Sunday.

Unfortunately I'm thinking that I'm going to return my scope and if/when all this stuff gets worked out buy another. I've got other projects that I can tie up 750$ with at the moment that work.

If you use the extended digital zoom setting it is like a spotting scope!

rexmitchell - return your x-sight then buy it from B&H Photo for $584 likely tax free. I'd do that but I've used mine way too much.

I think there can be an issue sometimes with the app crashing depending on the phone and OS (Android or IOS). I'm using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 and don't have any issues with the app crashing.
