I thought the little key was the only part of the mount that was reversible?

It is the ony part that is reverseable. When you take the key out you will also have a flat head screw in there that also secures the mount to the scope. You can not reverse the mount without leaving that screw out.
Do you have a way to measure it to see for sure its off?
If its so noticeable that you can see it with your bare eyes then it is an issue and I would be on the horn with ATN.
If your mount had the hold down nuts on the left as you look at it from behind then it is mounted right from the factory. I dont see where reversing it would do you any good, but then again wht do I know?

Yea I think if it were reversible it would be about 6-7 feet to the right. I will be contacting ATN and I will get some pics of it so ya'll can see how far off it is. Starting to think I should've stayed with the Sightmark Photon XT because I never had a single issue with it.

As a sidenote. Are you sure that your rail is straight? Just a thought.

100%.....One of the earlier posts I said that the mount on the bottom of the scope was drilled into the scope crooked.

Rifle is a Bushmaster AR-15 ORC.

I understand that you had said that the mount was off , I was just curious as to the rail being straight on the weapon. I have seen a few that the barrel wasnt exactly inline with the upper rail was all. I have mostly seen this on the free floaters and I think only one that wasnt.
I imagine youve already done this as well but have you checked the mount to the scope itself and made sure it was tight? Also when you loosen the mount how much free play is there and is it possible to adjust it out? Mine had enough to get about 20 moa out of it and the rest I shimmed out on the right rear to finish correcting it.
If its that bad off I would do as I said earlier and get on the phone w/ ATN and get a replacement sent.

The mount to the scope itself is what I'm talking about. The pre-drilled holes into the bottom of the scope are not straight up and down with the scope. So when the scope mount is screwed into the bottom of the scope it is at an angle.

Rifle rail is not in question at all. I've had two other different scopes on this rifle with zero issue.

My scope isn't that straight on the rail of my rifle. When zeroed, the reticle is quite far over to the left of the screen. Is there a way to straighten it up a bit?

I upgraded my scope to the latest firmware and did a comparison test of zero coordinates.

On previous version 174 the following x/y values were observed:

1.0x mag = x -11 y -22 / 2.0x mag = x -12 y -25 / 3.0x mag = x - 14 y -30 / 4.0x mag = x -15 y - 34

After the update to firmware 200 the following x/values are observed:

1.0x mag = x -11 y -22 / 2.0x mag = x -21 y -42 / 3.0x mag = x - 32 y -64 / 4.0x mag = x -45 y - 90

So based on the above I would say that users on 174 should update immediately for safety based on different x/y values, the latest test of POI tracking through zoom conducted by the UK user indicates the math is correct in version 200.

I purchased the X-Sight 5x18 on Tuesday of this week. Yeh I had a 100 questions and the ATN web site was useless and uninformative. Glad I found this forum and you guys's posts/ comments as they have been very helpful in answering my questions. Thanks guys. At first I was stunned at how fast it would drain batteries but have since shut things off and am able to get about 4.5 hours on the alkaline batteries. I will be looking into the lithium batteries though. Going to mount it on one of my rifles today and attempt to bore site it in as soon as I decide which one. Going on a hog hunt in south Georgia the end of this month and this scope is going to come in handy. Not impressed with the included IR Illuminator, doesn't seem to be any adjustment in brightness or focus. Probably will be making a call about it in the next few days. Anyone have any idea about how the scope holds up to moisture and temps? and what the limits are?

Before you start shooting with it, just have a look at the underside and see if your mount is straight. I tried mine today with the new firmware and have noticed that the mount is a good few millimetres away from being straight, hence why I cannot get the crosshairs onto the target. The screw holes on the underside have clearly not been machined in the right place.
I'm pretty much done with this scope now and mine's going back.

Any chance you would post pictures of this misaligned mounts? It might be helpful when others need to resolve this problem.

Sure thing. This photo shows it quite clearly. Given the way the mount is fixed to the scope there is no apparent way to adjust it and straighten it up.

Mine are red buttons. I've taken the mount off to see if there's any adjustment to be made but the screw holes are where they are sadly.

I am working a recall/ exchange on my 3x for the "forthcoming" (I hope) manual focus model. I need to send an email today requesting confirmation that they have received my unit. Maybe I will mention something about misaligned mounts in my email. I definitely don't have any intent to go through all of this again with a second unit.

HuntTXhogs, since you have several X-Sights, are you able to confirm any of yours are crooked like that?

Wow those are off, mine are off also, but not much, may be able to sight in correctly, this is really poor quality work on the mount, these should all be CNC machined, so you would think they would be straight, especially just hole placement, but depending on the setup on the machines, not always the case. I would suggest that everyone check theirs looking from the bottom of they scope.

If the holes were straight down the middle of the scope, it would make the moving reticle issue a much lesser problem, but for me, my crosshairs would be all the way over to the left and any magnification would lose them straightaway. I suppose they may have changed CNC settings for different batches? Maybe I'm just unlucky!

No, you're not the first to say that. Mine are not straight either. But I haven't shot mine yet, and I have mine mounted on my Airforce Condor, so will only be shooting short distances and won't matter, but if I decide to mount on something else it may become an issue.

Depending on how far off they are, it might make short distances worse. I could get zeroed on a target at 50 yards, but bringing it in today to 30 yards, I just could get the crosshairs over enough to get on target. Its a shame they couldn't have designed a mount with a bit of adjustment in it to get it straight.

I would rather have the mount with no adjustment, that way it can't move, how hard is it to machine and thread a couple of holes, straight? lol
