first duck I shot was a gadwall drake.
second that I took was a ringneck drake
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have no idea what the first duck was that I shot. My dad did not take pictures or make a big deal out of it. We just cleaned it along with the others. I don't even remember when or where it was. I've taken a lot for granted over the years so it's good that yall know.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

My first duck was a Fulvous Whistling duck (Mexican Squeeler). It was 1991 and I was 10 years old. My first band was a grrenwing teal killed later that year. My dad has hunted quite a bit since he was 20 or so and has yet to kill a banded bird.

Ringer hen, doesn't get much worse than that for a first duck Mine was a hen hooded merganser. The drakes of that species are beautiful, but those hens are pretty wild looking. I remember being excited to eat it, and wondering why my dad wasn't as excited to eat it as he was the wood ducks we usually shot.

GWT drake at lake Aquilla in 2011. I've shot a lot of blackjacks, some gwt, a few mallards, 2 hooded mergansers, 1 bufflehead I should've had mounted and didn't, 1 red head drake, 2 widgeons and a few gadwalls. Next year will be my first full year as an addicted duck hunter.
Say When.....

Arise.Kill.Eat -Acts 10:13 I have read a bunch of stuff on the internet about Star Wars but that does not mean I can skin a deer with a light saber.
