It has been rainy and everything is just soaking wet. Yesterday I took a couple of Wounded Warriors on a Pheasant hunt. I thought I took everything out to the truck. However, after I drove 2 hours I realized that my boot were well, I did not know. As It turns out; I left them by the curb next to where the truck was parked:

My wife took the photo and texted it to me. She thought it was the funniest thing ever...

Leaving the boots left for a wet hunt in sandals and socks. The ground was just ridiculously soaked. Here is an idea of how wet it was:

So my feet were wet, cold and, wet...

Wish I could tell you the hunt went great, but I cannot even do that. When your dog points 50+ times and your hunters kill 4 birds and shoot 3 boxes of shells it is just a lot of walking in the mud with cold wet feet...

That sucks. There is nothing worse than walking miles in wet shoes. Been there done that a lot. Glad they got a few birds.

LOL! At least you had your shotgun and ammo. I have actually left my ammo before, as ironic as that is!

Sounds like a great time to me, guess I have been cooped up in the office too long. I keep reading about how great it is just to get out with the dogs, enjoy nature and ??

done all that.
worst was leaving my duffel
full of clean clothes and
drawers and socks behind.
now have clean dry clothes and at
least 10 rounds of ammo for
anything i might have on me
stashed at the castle in the country.

Anyone else halfway travel with most of this stuff in the truck too? It seems I always have some sort of clothes, bullets, bow, etc in the back seat at all times. And I don't even have a lease!

I went to the lease last weekend and left my backpack with my binos and knives at home! We all forget stuff I guess.

I carry enough stuff in my truck at all times it seems. I could survive for days if stranded.

My lease is only 55 miles away, but all my gear stays in the truck,(during hunting season), minus the rifle(and can)

What's wrong with shooting three boxes of shells and getting four birds?
