Full size Ruger SR1911, P94 (40 S&W), S&W MP9c or an Ruger LC9. Depends on where I am going and what I am going to be doing. Most often would be the 1911.
Slightly back off strong side, practice the draw from there and a buddy of mine makes great Kydex holsters so I have custom holsters for each that are perfect for that position.

I bought a full size .40 11+1 to carry (when I get my chl, still haven't taken the class, so it's a truck carry right now) but I'm afraid it's going to be too big. I don't have a holster for it, so I haven't properly carried it, but just tucking it into my waistband, it's a little heavy. In hoping once I have a good holster, it will be alot more comfortable.

If I do end up buying a smaller carry gun, it'll still be a 40, just with a smaller profile. I don't have confidence in a 9mm like I do with a bigger cartridge. (Admittedly, that's probably more from hearsay, than actual facts though).

Im 5'9, 150lbs.

I wear starched jeans just about every day unless im running then I only carry the LCP.

Some may see it as overkill, and my girlfriend calls me paranoid every single day but I carry 2 guns, both in .380.

I carry a p238 next to my belt buckle IWB and a LCP with a clip attached to my boot. The starch jeans and belt buckle cover up just about everything and you cant see any printing at all.

I carry a P238 in a pocket holster during the summer and I carry a XDS 45 during the winter when wearing heavier cloths.

The most important part is to carry! Even a .22LR derringer is better than nothing. From the wrong end all barrels look like drill stem and they all sound like an atomic bomb. I wear XL t-shirts for the length and have no issue concealing a 5" 1911 in a beltslide at 4 o'clock.

Good word. Spend some money on a quality belt and holster, and carrying a decent sized pistol isn't hard to do. I'm 5'10" 170 pounds, and easily hide a G19 in shorts and tshirt a size medium.

Guess at 5'10", 210lbs with a 29" waist I have that weird body.

What belt and holster are you using?

That picture is with the N82 Tactical Professional and Blackhawk pistol belt. I was just seeing if it concealed any better than my SuperTuck. Buddy was trying to talk me into the N82. The SuperTuck fit me a lil better, but not much.

Free-carry in the small of my back it conceals well with a shirt that size.

I use Amish work belts. While not a "gun belt", its dang stiff and thick leather and I was able to buy 2 for less than a carry belt from any place I saw.

I like crossbreed IWB horse hide holsters canted full forward. I'll even poke a new hole to adjust it more if need be. The kydex makes holstering easy compared to an all leather IWB.

I carry two different guns, depending on my wardrobe for the day. 90% of the time I carry my XDm Compact 9mm....and the other 10% of the time I carry a S&W M&P 360 revolver (smaller and lighter). Both are carried IWB in a Garrett Industries "Silent Thunder" holster at 4 o'clock.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to what you're willing to ACTUALLY carry. If it means you'll actually carry it, then a .380 is much better than nothing. Heck even a .22 mag in your pocket is better than nothing at all. My advice is....carry as big of a weapon as you can comfortably conceal and carry on a daily basis.

My carry guns/holsters are a Ruger LC9 in a Suncoast Leather holster, Bersa Mini 9 Firestorm in a Bianchi Pro 100, or a PA-63 (9x18 Mak.)in a Bianchi Model 6D with the retaining strap cut off. All are carried crossdraw @ 10:00. If I'm wearing tight jeans (I've put on a few pounds), I'll carry with the holster between my pants and belt.

Another thing to think about is barrel length means nothing as far as concealed, the pistol grip is what you are concealing. One of my best friends (owner of Atwell Tactical) filed down his glock 17 grip to G19 specs and he conceals it perfectly. This is why the only mouse gun I use is when I am going for bread, gas etc. My carry gun is something I use alot and trust.

You will see the difference in grips is not that great, and unless you are wearing a smedium body building affliction shirt you should be able to easily conceal a G19 size gun.

Grip length and thickness are the most important to me. Only time barrel length really matters is when you are sitting down, especially if you carry crossdraw like I do.

I've tried lots of pistols and finally settled on a Kel Tec P11. It's not the most refined weapon but I have hundreds of rounds through it and it has been dead reliable. 11 rds of 9mm and it conceals in absolutely any clothing. The second easiest gun for me to conceal was a CZ75 Compact. The slide profile makes it very comfortable to carry IWB.

Is there really a right answer here? Just carry something. Just important as the right gun though is a good holster. A good holster will keep you from not carrying and will increase comfort. Me I carry a Glock 19 and 2 spare mags in my pockets. And I can carry that big gun because my Concealment Solutions holster is stupid comfortable. So get a good reliable gun but don't go cheap on a holster

Have CC for over 15yrs and have gone through several makes and calibers. Started with what I could shoot best, full size 9, then moved into compact, sub-compact and micro compact.
Now I carry the best match for different social (and environmental) scenarios. To me that is the one that I can securely carry concealed and still deploy with efficient accuracy.
XD-S .45acp in OWB slide holster carried cross draw/appendix at 10 is my every day standard. If I must carry when nearly naked then my invisible pocket rocket, MPA .380 gets to ride.
Like it has been said: carry the best firearm you 'will' carry, and be $£*% good with it. Because one day, if things go bad and SHTF, you don't want your firearm to be listed in the 'S' category.

The perfect carry for me. IWB at 4-5 o clock.

On occasion I have carried at 3 0 clock position with a untucked button down..either way the single stacked .45 is sooooo comfortable and glocks are light weight.

I carry either a full size ruger SR1911 or a Sig P229 at around the 3 o'clock. the 1911 is in a OWB and the sig is IWB.

Carry what you are comfortable shooting and concealing.
If you follow that rule, you will carry more often and that is the whole point of getting a CHL.

Most of my attire is jeans and a button down or shorts and a tee.

Jeans/button down - Whatever I want. Mostly XD subcompact or a 1911.

Shorts/tee - Pocket or IWB Sig 238. Sometimes I can even pull off the XD IWB.
