The god loves you - statement is for those don't own Hi-point only and who wish to make a comment about what they don't have or don't know ( hence - respond stupidly )

Back in 1993, I killed a pretty decent sized dominant doe that was making all racket alerting the other deer and ruining my chances at a good season. She had messed it for me the previous two years as well. 1st week of the season I was working on a ground blind and had only taken my glock 19 and a Marlin Camp Carbine in 9mm. Curiosity got the best of her and she came to see what the noise was about. All previous times she would snort and chase other deer off, but this time she actually closed the distance. She stopped about 50 yards away and then really let out the warning snorts. She then walked with her tail up walking slowly just staring me down. I had decided to take the Marlin because we were having problems with a pack of feral dogs at the time and I wanted fast follow up shots. It seemed like as if she was mocking me. I slowly picked up the Marlin and flicked off the safety. She went nuts and started snorting louder. I had never in my life seen this happen before. She was trying to chase me off. I leveled the rifle and fired a federal 124 grain Hydra-Shok and hit her right above the shoulder at the neck. She went down fast. As big as she was, the round performed perfectly. She stocked our freezer for a couple of months. She was definitely the Matriarch of the bunch, but she had made herself a nuissance by driving off the bucks as well. Very territorial.

That's good to know, because with so much misinformation and disinformation it can leave you confused. I've called TWPD about using 9mm and yes it is legal for Larger game, but no .22 - .17 - .22 mag. Good hunt and good shot

I have used my hi point .45 pistol to take every hog but one that we trapped. The biggest pig was just over 300lbs. I used hornady 200gr +p JHP most of the time. DRT every time including a few that were hanging around outside the trap when we pulled up. Those I shot at about 30 yds or so. I also love my hi point because I dont throw my 1911 in the door of the farm truck and let it bang around for 5 days in the door/under the front seat etc like I do my hi point. Also, its a shooter and pretty accurate for me.

300 lbs. that's huge like 572 strips of bacon. Well not really but it would make a big bacon sandwich

What do you have your carbine sighted in at ? Mine 9mm and using 147gr. I've only shot logs and paper, so this year I'll be ready ??

I didn't think about buying one until I read this thread and watched the posted videos. I guess I know what my next toy will be.

When I bought mine at Cabela's, I asked about the carbine but it was like playing 20 question and each answer was a one word response. Never mentioning anything about the other calibers or pistols. With that said I would had rather purchased 4595 instead

I have hunted hogs with my Marlin camp 9mm carbine. It's great out to 50 yards.

I shot a small hog (30 or so lbs) with my 4" XD9 at 25ish yards. I was shooting a 125grn RN hard cast bullet. Granted, I don't know how it was hit, but it never slowed down. Found no blood. I would shoot another with it today, but I doubt I would find it.
