Thats true, but if i had to sue and deal with everybody who did me harm i would still be busy. Life too short. Carma will take over.
I had my landscaper slemping me 4 yrs ago, he went out of business. 2 of my immigration attornies got debarred. 1 friend owed me 1000$ and he just got a dui. Another one that still owse me 1000$, his life is going down the drain. I can go on forever, but life is too short for me to stress about it.
I already know your answer: if you dont deal with it, who will?
My best friend carma or karma will

I just don't get people sometimes... Glad you're ok.
I was thinking about the recent comments and had a thought - even if they can't make it stick, a visit from the police may have the desired effect of deterring this kind of behavior in the future. You know, give this guy a sense of vulnerability so he thinks twice before going off the handle again. No guarantee, but something to consider if this guy walks and you're having trouble letting it go. Of course, I wasn't in your shoes (and admittedly would be on a mission like you).
Another plus - you've helped a lot of people prepare themselves mentally should they be so unfortunate to run into a similar situation, myself included.

He actually assaulted him with his fishing pole. This is not a simple case of harassment. Since he did it with an instrument (fishing pole), I believe the charges become more serious.
It's one thing to be pissed and run up to a boat and have a yelling match. It's a whole other can of worms to actually commit assault.
Wal has two witnesses that count. At a minimum, this guy may realize that next time he will be indicted. The more reports of the same behavior against the same guy, at some point he loses any credibility. He needs to be held accountable.

Glad you guys are ok Wal, I fish in Rockport all the time and it seems like there are more and more people who think they just flat out own all the water. If it is not guys running between me and shore, running up on us wade fishing, cutting off drifts, it is something else. Hope you get this guy taken care of through the LEOs.
Side note, reminds me of a story about two years ago involving a guide outta Rockport. Apparently he thought he OWNED the bay, potlicked the wrong guy and wound up knocked out on the deck of his boat in front of his clients.
HHUUMMMM, what to write, what to write, I got nothing.

Just trying to bring out the positives in an otherwise negative situation. Ideally, this guy ends up cuddling with a new roommate named Tiny.

It's one thing to yell at somebody for whatever reason. It's another to actually assault that person, and TOTALLY another to tell that person "When I get back to my boat, I'm going to F'n kill you!). That right there is serious business.

That's why I quit running to POC Wayne. Too many people down there think they own the water and it just makes things unpleasant. Haven't had something like that happen to me fishing, but I ran into plenty of nutcases in POC while duck hunting my own blinds that I built a mile from the closest known blind.
Sorry that happened to you though. Definitely update us when he gets arrested

Its amazing to me that most people at the boat ramp will be nice , and once they hit the water they are jerkballs. Same thing with road aggression.

Nope, unless you're in my boat with me I'm a jerkball from the start. Not telling some slacker at the ramp where the birds are. Drop and go, no time for chit chat. And if you get there before me somehow I will sink your kayak in my wake as I blow passed you to get to the spot first. In all seriousness I was hunting public last year and got the the ramp first. Some guys came in just as we were about to launch. They busted their butts to try to get around us and beat us to the X. Didn't work, I knew the creek channel and they tried running on plane through the timber. What's wrong with folks? Damn near cost them their lives or a minimum a lower unit when they found a stump.

Without video its going be hard. But seriously I am glad your ok. Anyone can say anything they like. I will be asked to present my side of the story to a jury and he will be asked to present his. I'll tell the truth and then let the chips fall where they may. If a jury says he did nothing wrong then I have to abide by that decision and go on to the house. I have been on the side of justice where it is not right for me to seek prosecution as the end result. My job is to make the right decisions for the right reasons, gathering as much infornmation as possible and then handing it over to the people. It is the people that make these decisions. All too often people think it is the government, when all the while it is "We the people". So he can talk his trash to the people. I still believe they will see right through any lies he has to spew. I believe justice will be done. Whether I like that justice, matters not.

Is he about 25-30 years old and duck hunts around Ellis County/Johnson County line west of Maypearl? Does he drive a white Excursion with a black front end replacement? Short little feller with a goatee....I've heard of him. brilliant
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Glad to hear that ya'll made it out ok. Just wondering what your buddy was doing when all this went down. I hope the guy gets everything he deserves. He would probably have learned more from a good butt whipping then possible jail time. However, no one can tell you how to handle the situation until they are actually in the same one you were in.

My buddy did exactly what I needed him to do. Say nothing and do nothing To the guy. On the flip side my bud is a card carrying member of the second amendment party. Getting hit with the fishing rod is one thing, the anchor is a deadly weapon. I assure you, without putting it all out there, this incident was going to stop before he assaulted anyone with that anchor. I thank God he was not able to take it from my wife. As right as it would have been to defend ourselves, it would have changed the way I viewed the bay from then on. It all worked out really good, nobody got hurt, I will find the identity and bring him to justice. It's all good!
